Sajid Khan trolled for mocking Nitish Reddy [Source: @SajidKhan244, @NitishKReddy/X.com]
Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan got massively trolled after a big goof-up on social media. In the heat of the moment, he gave a cheeky reply to Indian cricketer Nitish Reddy, but that account turned out to be fake.
The incident quickly went viral, with users sharing screenshots and teasing Sajid Khan for engaging with the account. While the reply itself was harmless, Sajid’s goof-up made him the talk of the town.
Sajid Khan falls into Nitish Reddy trap
The incident happened when Sunrisers Leeds started bidding for Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed during The Hundred 2026 auction.
Since Leeds is now owned by Indian businesswoman Kavya Maran, who also owns SRH in the IPL, her bid for a Pakistan player led to serious backlash.
That being said, Sunrisers Leeds’ social media account shared an update saying, ‘Paddle up for Abar’ on X. To this, a parody account of Indian all-rounder Nitish Reddy replied, ‘Pls Paddle Down.’
Now, Pakistan cricketer Sajid Khan mistook the parody account for the real Nitish Reddy and dropped a cheeky reply, saying, ‘Paddle Up. It’s cricket,' with funny emojis.
However, Sajid messed up miserably with the identity of Nitish Reddy and hence got massively trolled on social media.

Kavya Maran faced heat for buying Abrar Ahmed
That being said, Sunrisers Leeds successfully bought Abrar Ahmed during The Hundred 2026 auction after a brief battle with Trent Rockets. However, fans in India didn’t receive it well.
Abrar became the first Pakistani cricketer to be signed by a franchise owned by Indian stakeholders in The Hundred. Because Indian and Pakistani players do not play in each other’s leagues, the move surprised many fans.
The signing came amid sensitive India-Pakistan relations, which recently worsened after the Pahalgam terror attack.
After the auction, boycott hashtags started to swarm on social media. Fans targeted the franchise and owner Kavya Maran for allegedly playing against national interests.
The team’s social media account reportedly got suspended temporarily, although the exact reason was not confirmed.
Can Sunrisers Leeds release Abrar Ahmed?
That being said, despite backlash, Sunrisers Leeds may not be forced to release Abrar Ahmed from their squad for The Hundred 2026. Unlike the IPL, The Hundred is run by the ECB and takes place in England.
That means the league allows Pakistani players. Releasing Abrar due to fan pressure could violate contract rules and lead to penalties or fines from the ECB.
As for the BCCI, Rajeev Shukla made it clear that The Hundred falls out of the board’s jurisdiction. The final call on whether to retain Abrar Ahmed lies with the franchise, Sunrisers Leeds, itself.
The BCCI cannot interfere in the batter, as they’re only in control of the IPL and not The Hundred.
