Pakistan bowler recreates Mohammad Amir's infamous feat [Source: X]
The claims of match-fixing rocked Pakistan cricket yet again, as a promising fast bowler recreated one of the most scandalous acts in cricket history, involving former pacer Mohammad Amir.
Hailed for his ability to move the new ball both ways, Mohammad Amir is undoubtedly one of the finest pacers to play for Pakistan.
However, apart from his cricketing excellence, Amir grabbed the limelight for the wrong reasons when he was found guilty of spot-fixing during Pakistan's tour of England in 2010.
Although the left-arm pacer moved on from the incident and made a remarkable comeback, powering his team to a historic Champions Trophy triumph in 2017, the scandalous act by a young Pakistan pacer reminded fans of the crime Amir committed as a teenager.
When Mohammad Amir was banned for spot fixing
Mohammad Amir made his debut for Pakistan as a prodigious bowling talent. His ability to generate significant movement at sheer pace made him a potent threat to the best in business.
However, when he was barely 18 years old, Amir made a mistake that nearly cost him his career. As instructed by then-Pakistan captain Salman Butt, Amir delivered massive pre-planned no-balls.
The incident was probed immediately, and the investigators found out that Amir had bowled those no-balls as part of his involvement in the spot-fixing.

As a result, he was banned for five years from all forms of cricket, with the ICC imposing a lifetime ban on Salman Butt.
Pakistan bowler recreates Mohammad Amir's no ball in National T20 Cup
Meanwhile, a similar incident resurfaced in the National T20 Cup and reminded fans of Amir's crime. The incident occurred in the 16th match of the competition between Lahore Region Blues and Karachi Region Blues.
The Karachi Region captain, Rameez Aziz, handed the ball to Asad Akhtar to bowl the ninth over when Ali Hassan Baloch and Saad Nasim were trying to steady the ship for their team.
While Asad Akhtar's wayward bowling helped the Lahore batters collect 21 runs off his over, the right-arm pacer's no ball sparked rumours of match-fixing.
After conceding seven runs, including a wide and a boundary, Asad Akhtar bowled a massive no-ball, overstepping just like Amir did 16 years ago.
His left foot was way outside the popping crease, making the spectators wonder if he was involved in spot-fixing.
As he massively overstepped, everyone watching the game speculated whether the no-ball was pre-decided and a part of the most uncomfortable truth in the cricketing circle.
Nevertheless, as of writing, Akhtar's involvement in spot-fixing hasn't been officially confirmed, and the PCB will certainly take action if the bowler is found guilty.
Karachi Region secure a thumping victory
Despite Asad Akhtar's bizarre no-ball and expensive spell, the Karachi Region secured an emphatic victory over the Lahore Region. Batting first, Karachi posted a mammoth total of 206 runs, courtesy of Saad Baig's stunning half-century.
In response, Lahore was bowled out for 149 runs in 17.3 overs, with Jahandad Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani dismantling them with four-wicket hauls.
