Tuesday night in Leeds saw remarkable run-scoring in The Hundred Men's Competition, as the Sunrisers Leeds defeated London Spirit in the blockbuster encounter by 37 runs. Batting first on the night, fifties from Mitchell Marsh, Ryan Rickleton and Harry Brook helped the Sunrisers rack up a mammoth total of 241/2. In response, despite a collapse, London Spirit scored 204/6, courtesy of David Willey's 83 off 46.

The 445 runs scored across both innings of the Sunrisers Leeds vs London Spirit match are the most scored in a match in the tournament's history. They eclipsed the record of 418 runs scored from the Birmingham Phoenix vs Trent Rockets match earlier in the ongoing season.

Ryan Rickelton scored the most (8) on the night, followed by seven for Mitchell Marsh, five for Harry Brook and a solitary six for Dan Lawrence in the first innings. For the Spirit, Liam Livingstone and David Willey scored three sixes each, while Dewald Brevis and Jamie Overton got two each.

Former England international David Willey struck a brilliant 83* off 46 with 10 fours and three sixes in Leeds. Despite the loss, this is the most any batter has scored in the tournament, while batting at number 7 or lower.

He surpassed the 3-year-old record held by his former England teammate, Chris Jordan, who scored an unbeaten 70 against Welsh Fire.

Mitchell Marsh and Ryan Rickelton of the Sunrisers Leeds stitched a 148-run stand in the first innings of the match. This is the highest partnership for any wicket in the competition's history. The record was previously held by Tom Curran and James Neesham, who added 127 runs for the 6th wicket for MI London in 2023.
