The wait is finally over as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will face each other in the IPL 2026 final on Sunday, May 31. While excitement is at an all-time high, RCB fans have been issued a strict public advisory and several bans.
The advisory comes amid expectations of large gatherings across the city, especially if RCB wins its second IPL title.
RCB and GT: Road to the IPL 2026 final
RCB entered the IPL 2026 season as the defending champions and once again delivered a dominant performance throughout the tournament. The Bengaluru-based franchise topped the league standings and secured a direct place in the final after a commanding victory in Qualifier 1.
In a record-breaking performance, RCB posted a massive total of 254/5 against Gujarat Titans. Their bowlers then completed the job by restricting GT and securing a comprehensive 92-run win.
Gujarat Titans, led by captain Shubman Gill, bounced back strongly after the defeat (against RCB) and earned another chance to reach the final through Qualifier 2.
Facing Rajasthan Royals, GT chased down a challenging target of 215 with remarkable ease. The match saw Rajasthan Royals post 214/6, thanks largely to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's brilliant 96 off 47 balls.

However, Gujarat Titans responded in style. Captain Shubman Gill led from the front with a sensational 104 off 53 balls, while Sai Sudharsan contributed 58 off 32 deliveries.
Their 167-run opening partnership helped GT win comfortably with eight balls remaining and seal a place in their third IPL final in five seasons.
Bengaluru Police announce strict restrictions
In a significant development the Bengaluru Police have appealed to citizens to maintain peace and discipline. According to the advisory, public celebrations in roads, parks, and other public places after the final result have been discouraged.
Authorities said LED walls or giant screens cannot be installed without prior permission. Existing screens should also not be used for public match screenings unless approval has been obtained from the concerned departments.
Police specifically directed that screens should not be placed outside malls, pubs, restaurants, or other establishments in a way that allows public viewing from roads or open spaces.
The advisory also prohibits bike rallies, over-speeding, stunt riding, unnecessary honking, and road blockades.
It is also important to mention that the police have further warned against bursting crackers, using dangerous materials, consuming alcohol in public places, and engaging in behaviour that could lead to fights.
What happened in Bengaluru after RCB's win in IPL 2025 final?
It is vital to note that, after RCB's win in the IPL 2025 final, tragic events followed. After the team lifted its first-ever IPL trophy, massive celebrations were organised in Bengaluru.
An estimated 2 to 3 lakh fans gathered near the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The huge crowd led to a stampede, resulting in the deaths of 11 people and injuries to more than 50 others.
As RCB and Gujarat Titans prepare for the biggest match of the season, Bengaluru Police have urged fans to celebrate responsibly and remember to maintain public safety.
