MS Dhoni’s return for the CSK franchise has faced yet another delay. Arshdeep Singh has claimed a huge record for the Punjab Kings this IPL 2026 season. In other news, yet another CSK cricketer has been struck with an injury.

Khaleel Ahmed ruled out of IPL 2026
Khaleel Ahmed has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2026 season. The CSK fast bowler has suffered an injury on his right quadricep. In an official statement issued by the franchise, Ahmed’s injury will take approximately 12 weeks to heal. The speedster suffered the injury during CSK’s earlier game this season against the KKR on April 14.

In five matches this tournament, the 28-year-old managed to pick up just two wickets at an expensive bowling average of 73.
MS Dhoni’s return delayed for CSK in IPL 2026
MS Dhoni will not return to the CSK playing XI for their upcoming match against the SRH in Hyderabad this weekend. Instead, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter is expected to return back to action at some point next week. As per reports, Dhoni is still not match-fit and remains unlikely to feature in the match against SRH on Saturday. He is yet to play a single match for his side this IPL 2026 season.
Dinesh Chandimal joins Quetta Gladiators for PSL 2026 as Bevon’s replacement
Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Chandimal has been roped in by the Quetta Gladiators franchise for the remainder of the PSL 2026 season. The cricketer was recruited as a replacement of New Zealand-based middle-order batter Bevon Jacobs. Bevon played just three matches for the Gladiators, scoring 52 runs at a strike rate of 140.54. He is now expected to join the New Zealand national squad for the white-ball series in Bangladesh.
SRH’s David Payne ruled out of IPL 2026
SRH fast bowler David Payne has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2026 season. The franchise confirmed the same on April 16, stating that the England-based speedster has been struck with an ankle injury.
Payne played only the first two games for the SRH this season, taking figures of 2-35 against defending champions RCB on March 28 and going wicketless against the KKR on April 2.
Arshdeep Singh first in Punjab Kings history to clip 100 wickets
Arshdeep Singh picked up sensational bowling figures of 3-22 in his four overs against Mumbai Indians in match 24 of the IPL 2026 season. Through the course of his spell, the Indian fast bowler completed 100 IPL wickets in his career, reaching the landmark figure in just 86 innings. He also became the first cricketer in the history of the Punjab Kings franchise to snare 100 or more wickets in the tournament.
