MS Dhoni Issues Statement on His IPL 2027 Playing Status
After months of speculation regarding his playing availability for IPL 2027, MS Dhoni himself has finally revealed his intention for the upcoming stint with Chennai Super Kings.
For IPL 2027, Dhoni shared that he is prioritising his fitness, and it will only be after a positive report from a medical assessment that he will get to know whether he could play IPL 2027 for CSK or not. Notably, Dhoni missed the entire IPL 2026 season due to injury.
Matt Henry Ruled Out of India vs New Zealand T20I Series
After feeling discomfort during the 2nd T20I between India and New Zealand, Matt Henry has been ruled out of the entire India vs New Zealand T20I series.
The fast bowler, who has been an asset for the team, felt discomfort while bowling in the 2nd T20I and was sidelined immediately. Now, in a report from Cricbuzz, it has been stated that Kyle Jamieson might replace him in the Playing XI for the 3rd T20I on October 27.
Nahid Rana Ruled Out of Bangladesh vs West Indies Test Series
In another development, Nahid Rana, the talented Bangladeshi pacer, has been ruled out of the entire two-match Bangladesh vs West Indies Test series due to a labrum tear.
Rana underwent medical checks in Australia, and weakness and discomfort in his lower back and pelvic area were found. “If he fails to recover in time before the second Test (against South Africa), in that case, he is likely to make a comeback to competitive cricket with the white-ball series against South Africa,” a BCB official said.
Pakistan Players Might Not Be Allowed to Play Nepal Premier League 2026
In a massive and interesting update, the Pakistan Cricket Board has put a hold on the no-objection certificates of its players for travelling to Nepal and playing in the NPL 2026. Notably, Pakistan cricketers who have received their NOCs have also been instructed that their permission to play in the NPL 2026 has been put on hold.
Interestingly, as per an Cricinfo report, the PCB is asking for a fee in the region of USD 25,000 in exchange for the NOC for each player. However, the report didn’t confirm if the board had requested the same in writing.
Kieron Pollard Pulls Out of SA20 2027
Kieron Pollard, the MI legend and currently the head coach of the team, has decided to withdraw from the upcoming edition of SA20. Pollard, who was roped in by Joburg Super Kings in the mini-auction this month for R 1.5 million, informed the Super Kings management of his unavailability.
With the IPL 2027 window falling in March-April, it is likely that Pollard would want to prioritise spending time with MI players in the camp during their preparatory phase.
