Mohammad Amir accuses ICC and India of match-fixing [Source: X]
Days after Pakistan veteran Mohammad Amir’s prediction fell flat on its face, he has again burst out in controversial flames, accusing India of match-fixing in the T20 World Cup 2026 with the ICC.
While Amir was confident earlier that the team would not reach the semi-finals because of their poor gameplay, after the March 1 spectacle from the Men in Blue, the pacer now blames it on the manipulable haptics.
While India stormed into the Semi-Finals, courtesy of an unbeaten 97 from Sanju Samson, West Indies were knocked out of the tournament as Pakistan bid goodbye earlier after Sri Lanka managed to deflate the Men in Green’s run rate. While nursing the burn, Mohammad Amir now makes a scathing take on the host’s journey to the semis as he throws up another prediction.
What Was Mohammad Amir’s Earlier Prediction For India?
Before the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka game, Mohammad Amir made a prediction for both the Men in Blue and his own country. The left-arm pacer, speaking about Pakistan, said that whether they win or loose, SKY & Co. will not be able to qualify for the semi-finals.
“Pakistan will qualify. Dekho, Pakistan kare na kare, Hindustaan naaaa (It doesn't matter if Pakistan qualifies or not, India will not),” Amir said on ‘Haarna Mana Hai’ show on GeoNews.
As stupid as it sounds now, Amir has been rattled by the qualification of Suryakumar Yadav's men and has questioned the legitimacy of the game now, pointing fingers at match-fixing and ICC, BCCI coup.

Amir Points Fingers At Hetmyer’s Controversial Dismissal
Shimron Hetmyer was a nightmare for the Men in Blue as he came in to bat at No. 3 and took on Varun Chakaravarthy from the very start. Hetmyer struck a six early to set the tone for his innings. He continued with a quickfire 27 off 12 balls before Jasprit Bumrah dismissed him and sent him back to the pavilion.
A length ball angled across the stumps had Hetmyer swipe across the line. Although it initially looked like the ball had brushed his thigh pad, the Indian team opted for a review. UltraEdge showed a slight nick off the bat as Sanju Samson completed the catch behind the stumps. Hetmyer appeared frustrated with the review as he had to walk back leaving West Indies at 103/3.
Hetmyer was very impactful and could have been even more dangerous for the hosts had he stayed longer at the crease. Referring to this incident, Mohammad Amir said that Hetmyer’s dismissal was controversial and suggested that he was not out, indirectly accusing India of match-fixing.
"Hetmyer’s dismissal was controversial, I don’t think he was out. If he had stayed there a little longer and the score had reached 220–230, India would have been knocked out today," Amir said on the show.
Amir Predicts Men in Blue To Lose The Semis of the T20 World Cup 2026
Adding to his earlier prediction, which fell flat, Mohammad Amir again predicted that the hosts would lose the tournament, stating that their performance has been on the decline, with multiple dropped catches and expensive bowlers who struggled to take wickets.
"India is not playing good cricket. I’m telling you right now. Check their fielding, they’ve dropped 3–4 catches. Except for Bumrah, every bowler is getting smashed. Cricket analysts will agree with me. West Indies doesn’t play spinners well. I still believe India is not the hot favourite in this tournament, this is my belief," Mohammad Amir concluded.
Sanju Samson Heroics Save The Face Of The Hosts
It is true that India’s innings and semi-final scenario were largely saved by Sanju Samson, considering that opener Abhishek Sharma and No. 3 batter Ishan Kishan both fell for just 10 runs while chasing West Indies’ 196.
Suryakumar Yadav also disappointed with a 16-ball 18. It was only Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson, along with a late breezy boundary from Shivam Dube, who revived the team’s hopes and helped them finish the chase with four balls remaining.
In the bowling department too, there was disappointment, with Arshdeep Singh going wicketless while conceding 43 runs in his four overs. Hardik Pandya, though he picked up one wicket, was hit for 40 runs in his spell.
Axar Patel also went wicketless, giving away 35 runs, while only Jasprit Bumrah impressed with two wickets from his four overs, despite an economy rate of 9.00.
