The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications for the Indian women's team's fielding coach position. The move could lead to a change in the coaching staff.

Munish Bali is currently serving as India's women's team fielding coach. However, the team's repeated fielding lapses and dropped catches have raised concerns.

BCCI Invites Applications For India Women's Team Fielding Coach

In a significant development, the BCCI has invited applications for the fielding coach position in the Indian women's team. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with the national side across all three formats.

The board is looking for candidates with strong cricketing knowledge and experience at the highest level. Applicants must meet at least one of three eligibility criteria listed in the official advertisement.

Candidates must have international playing experience, a BCCI Level B coaching certificate with at least 30 First-Class appearances, or the required coaching experience with an international team, T20 franchise or state team.

Munish Bali's Four-Year Stint Could Be Coming To An End

Munish Bali has been India's women's team fielding coach since 2022. However, the team has continued to struggle with dropped catches and fielding mistakes, with the recent Zimbabwe ODI series once again exposing these problems.

With the BCCI now inviting applications for the role, questions could be raised over Bali's future. India are also set to tour South Africa for a multi-format series in December, making the fielding coach's position important ahead of the tour.

BCCI Also Invites Applications For India Men's Team Head Physiotherapist

Apart from the women's fielding coach position, the BCCI has also invited applications for the head physiotherapist role with the Indian men's team. The vacancy comes after Kamlesh Jain submitted his resignation in September.

Jain joined the Indian men's team in June 2022 after replacing Nitin Patel. He is expected to end his four-year stint after the ongoing India's tour of New Zealand, following which the new appointment will take charge.
