Team India star Jemimah Rodrigues seems to be making rapid progress in terms of regaining match fitness. Mere days after the cricketer declared herself fit to play for India amid her injury concerns, the 26-year-old justified her claim by smashing a 45-ball century for Mumbai Women in an Indian domestic competition.

Batting at number three against Pondicherry Women in match number 103 of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy Elite 2026 season, the elegant right-hander smeared 107* runs in all from just 49 balls with 16 boundaries and two huge sixes.

Playing her first tournament after recovering from an injury, Jemimah Rodrigues made 107* runs off just 49 balls with 16 boundaries and two huge sixes as Mumbai Women mounted 213-2 in 20 overs against Pondicherry Women in match 103 of the Senior Women's T20 Trophy Elite 2026 at Pune’s MCA Stadium.

Batting at number three, the cricketer arrived at the crease inside the fifth over of the match after the fall of opening batter Sanika Chalke for just 15 off 11 balls. Forming forces with Humairaa Kaazi at 40-1 within the powerplay, Jemimah shared 166 runs for the second wicket with the half-centurion from just 86 deliveries.

Jemimah’s century makes a case for her India return

Just a few days ago, Jemimah Rodrigues took to her Instagram account and dropped a crucial recovery update.

After sustaining a hamstring injury in The Hundred 2026 season and spending three months rehabilitating herself, the 26-year-old wrote, “Life Update: HAMSTRING HAS BEEN DECLARED FIT!!!!!!!! After 3 months of rehab. Now I can't wait to get going.”

Owing to her injury, Rodrigues was forced to miss the entirety of the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup in the UAE and the 2026 Women’s T20 Asian Games in Japan. Moreover, the cricketer was also excluded from the Team India squad in their recently concluded white-ball home series against Zimbabwe Women.

With a century under her belt in one of her competitive return games, Jemimah Rodrigues unleashed a strong statement in front of the Indian selectors as to why she is indeed fit and raring to roar once again for the Indian Women’s team at the highest level.

As per the schedule, the India Women team will next tour South Africa in December to play one Test, three ODIs and three T20I matches against the hosts.
