The defending champions successfully retained their title with another dominant display against Sri Lanka.Smriti Mandhana Leads India’s Batting Charge to Mammoth 216 in FinalIndia Women won the toss and opted to bat first in the Women’s Asian Games 2026 final against Sri Lanka. The openers provided a flying start, with Smriti Mandhana leading the charge as India raced to 67 in the first six overs.Mandhana completed her half-century off just 30 balls, while Shafali Verma fell two runs short of fifty as Chamudi Praboda ended the scintillating 99-run opening stand. Mandhana continued her assault but missed out on a century, departing for 79 off 45 balls.Richa Ghosh then provided the finishing flourish with a breathtaking unbeaten 49 off 22 balls. Deepti Sharma dismissed Athapaththu for 29 off 21 balls, before Shreyanka Patil and Shree Charani joined the party, leaving Sri Lanka with little room to recover as wickets tumbled rapidly.Deepti finished as India’s standout bowler, returning exceptional figures of 3 for six runs in four overs.
