In the 52nd match of the IPL 2026 season, the Gujarat Titans beat the Rajasthan Royals comfortably by 77 runs. With that victory, they jumped to the second spot on the points table, thus strengthening their playoff odds.

The match began with Jofra Archer bowling an 11-ball over, which allowed GT to get momentum and stack 82 runs in the powerplay. Shubman Gill (84) and Sai Sudharsan (55) stitched a 118-run opening stand to guide the Titans to a big total of 229 runs.

In the chase, Rajasthan Royals got a decent start from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored 36 off 16 balls. However, the middle order collapsed under the scoreboard pressure.

Dhruv Jurel showed promise with 24 off 10 balls but was cleaned up by Rashid Khan. Ravindra Jadeja also scored 38 runs, but it wasn’t enough as RR couldn’t hold the partnership and eventually got bowled out for 152 runs in 16.3 overs.

How can Gujarat Titans qualify for the IPL 2026 playoffs?

With that victory, the Gujarat Titans are now seated in second place on the points table with 14 points in 11 games. They have seven victories at +0.228 NRR.

Since GT still has 3 more games to go, their playoff qualification scenario is fairly simple. If GT win all three remaining matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad, KKR and CSK, they will finish on 20 points.

That would almost certainly guarantee playoff qualification and give them a very strong chance of ending in the top two.

If GT win two out of their last three matches, they will finish on 18 points. That should still be enough to qualify comfortably, although NRR could decide whether they finish in the top two alongside teams like RCB and Punjab Kings.

Winning only one of the remaining three matches would leave GT on 16 points. Qualification would still be possible, but NRR and results involving rival teams could become extremely important.

If the Gujarat Titans lose all three remaining matches, they will remain on 14 points, and their qualification hopes would become very slim. In that scenario, they would need several other results to go in their favour.

What are Gujarat Titans’ remaining games of IPL 2026?

Meanwhile, after this, the Gujarat Titans will play three more games in the league stages of the IPL 2026 season. They will now head back home in Ahmedabad to face Sunrisers Hyderabad, another strong opponent, favourite to secure the playoff spot.

After that, GT will travel all the way to Kolkata to face KKR at the Eden Gardens on May 16. For their league fixture, the Titans will face five-time champions CSK at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21.
