In the second clash of a double header Saturday, Gujarat Titans have come face to face against Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rajasthan are fresh off a massive win over CSK, but Gujarat Titans lost to Punjab Kings.
In a significant development, Shubman Gill has been ruled out of the Rajasthan Royals and Rashid Khan walked out for the toss alongside Riyan Parag. The toss went in visitors favour and Rajasthan Royals opted to bat first.
Talking about the team changes, Shubman Gill is out and Rashid Khan is leading the team. Kumar Kushagra will also play his first game of the season. For Rajasthan Royals, they too have a couple of changes. Ravi Bishnoi is out but will most likely come back in the second innings as an impact sub.

GT vs RR IPL 2026: Captains Thoughts
Rashid Khan (Gujarat Titans Captain): "[Are you surprised to see Royals win the toss and bat first?] Well, it is surprising. We wanted to bowl first. It is a fresh wicket. There is going to be some help for the bowlers early on. Quite happy with the toss so far. Shubman Gill got a little muscle spasm. He will be back very soon.
Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals Captain): We are going to bat first. Looking a little on the stats, 70 percent have been favouring the side batting first. Plus we made a few changes to our side and that's why we are batting first.

Shubman Gill Misses First Game For Gujarat Titans
Interestingly, it is the first time that Shubman Gill will miss a match for Gujarat Titans. In the past three years, the right-handed batter has played all games for the team that was introduced to IPL in 2023.
Now, only two players - Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan have played all games for Gujarat Titans, which is 62 appearance. However, Gujarat Titans will miss Gill a lot both as a player and a captain.
Gill has a history of neck spasm. He was also admitted in hospital previously due to the same issue and now the extend of his injury is unknown.
