Glenn Maxwell lights up the National Stadium in Karachi with the ball as the Hyderabad Kingsmen franchise continues to reboot PSL 2026 with winning ways. After starting off the tournament with four straight defeats upfront, the Marnus Labuschagne-led franchise has since registered two successive wins to climb up the eight-team points ladder.
Incidentally, Kingsmen’s newfound winning momentum also coincided with the PSL debut of Maxwell, since the legendary Australian all-rounder only recently joined the franchise in Pakistan after getting roped in by them.
Mere two days after joining the team for PSL 2026, the 37-year-old has now fired indirect shots at physios and even at the grueling schedule of the tournament, which saw the Kingsmen playing two matches in two days in Karachi this past weekend.

While speaking with the commentators after the match, the cricketer was asked about the challenges of playing back-to-back matches in two days for Kingsmen, almost immediately after arriving in Karachi.
Maxwell admitted being “pretty tired” between games, since his transit between Colombo and Karachi had a “five-hour layoff” in the middle of his sleeping time. Australia’s champion all-rounder also laughingly joked about his “old aging body” at the age of 37.
Glenn Maxwell said “I was pretty tired. I think the transit between Colombo and Karachi really cooked me. It was about a five-hour layover, which isn’t long, but it came right in the middle of my sleeping time. I tried to stay awake and really struggled to get through the day and to get through that game, to be honest. I wasn’t even sure if I’d be able to get up for today. The old, aging body was battling, but I’m glad the physios put in a bit of extra time for me and got me up.”
Maxwell gets wickets, runs as Kingsmen makes it two-in-two
Glenn Maxwell joined Hyderabad Kingsmen for the match against Karachi Kings this past Saturday in Karachi. Even though he failed to pick up a wicket and was dismissed for just two with the bat, the Kingsmen franchise secured a four-wicket win to get off the mark on the PSL 2026 points table.
The following day at the same venue, the cricketer picked up the important wicket of Islamabad United’s Haider Ali to claim figures of 1-21 in his four overs. He also bludgeoned 21* off just nine balls as the Hyderabad Kingsmen blazed past United’s 153 with six wickets and nine balls to spare.
Hyderabad Kingsmen to face RawalPindiZ
On a trail of two successive wins, Hyderabad Kingsmen will now face fellow tournament debutants RawalPindiZ in match number 24 of the PSL 2026 season. The match will be hosted by the National Stadium in Karachi on Thursday, April 16 later this week.
