Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to remain the leading run-scorer of the IPL 2026 season with 200 runs in four matches at an average of 50, as he holds the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ of the tournament. His Rajasthan Royals teammate Ravi Bishnoi, however, lost his Purple Cap to Gujarat Titans fast bowler Prasidh Krishna.

In an exhilarating double-header, Gujarat Titans and RCB secured comprehensive wins over LSG and Mumbai Indians respectively. Despite Titans and RCB’s success, the Rajasthan Royals franchise remains the number one side on the IPL 2026 points table.
Josh Hazlewood rested despite return from injury for RCB
Josh Hazlewood was rested by the RCB franchise in match number 20 of the IPL 2026 season against Mumbai Indians in Mumbai. Even though the legendary fast bowler recently attained full recovery and made his return to competitive cricket, the speedster was benched from the playing XI after playing just one match.
As per reports, Hazlewood was rested to manage his workload, and he was replaced by New Zealand paceman Jacob Duffy in the match against Mumbai Indians on April 12.
Lahore Qalandars rope in Charith Asalanka as Emon’s replacement
The Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars franchise has roped in Charith Asalanka for the remainder of the PSL 2026 season. The star Sri Lanka batter will be replacing Bangladesh cricketer and 23-year-old opener Parvez Hossain Emon. It is worth noting that Emon tore his ligament after an unfortunate on-field collision with Asif Ali during Qalandars’ recent match against Multan Sultans.
Shubman Gill becomes one of the fastest to 4,000 IPL runs
Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill punched out a match-winning 56 off 40 balls against LSG in match number 19 of the IPL 2026 season. The innings also helped Gill complete 4,000 runs in his IPL career, thus becoming one of the fastest cricketers in the history of the tournament to scale the landmark figure.
The Titans opener reached the feat in just 118 innings, beating even the likes of league veterans Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis.
Rajasthan Royals home ground rewarded for IPL 2026
The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, also the secondary home ground of the Rajasthan Royals, hosted three matches for the franchise in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. The Assam Cricket Association has now announced a huge cash reward of Rs. 25 lakhs for the ground staff of the stadium for successfully hosting all three matches, despite facing several challenges with the weather.
