ECB issues crucial update on Nat Sciver Brunt’s condition
The England Women are in an unstoppable form in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup as the world is watching their domination on home soil. While facing the Ireland Women, they kept the unbeaten streak alive with a four-wicket victory.
Amidst this victory, Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt’s injury scare sparked tension in the England camp. While chasing the 119-run target, England was going well as Captain Scriver-Brunt was in great touch, guiding her side towards victory.
But the rhythm was interrupted in the fifth delivery of the 16th over. After smashing a classic boundary, she walked back towards the dressing room. That move left the fans stunned as they kept guessing the reason behind that.
After England secured the victory, the ECB unveiled an exclusive update on the captain. The board revealed that the England Women skipper experienced tightness in her calf during the match.
As a precaution, she was retired hurt and will be monitored by the medical team, especially with the high-intensity tournament underway. Even before the tournament began, she had the same issue that ruled her out of the game for six weeks. Due to that, she missed the T20I series against New Zealand and India Women.

Will Nat Sciver Brunt return for England’s next game?
With every match carrying immense importance in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, Nat Sciver Brunt’s injury concern has cast a shadow over England’s title hopes. Just before stepping into the tournament, she struggled with the same issue, and the concern has emerged again.
The entire side has crossed their fingers as the captain will undergo a scan on Wednesday to know the exact condition of the injury. In England’s lineup, Sciver-Brunt has been a massive strength as any prolonged absence could deal a major blow to England’s T20 World Cup campaign.
