The Pakistan Cricket Board announced their revised central contract list a couple of days ago, and now, the New Zealand Cricket Board has also announced the list of players who have been given the annual contracts based on their performance.

Several high-profile names who missed out on the contract last time around have been added in the latest list; meanwhile, some have requested that the New Zealand board not include them in the Test contractual list.

New Zealand central contract: Devon Conway returns after two years

Devon Conway has made his return to the Central contract list for the 2026-27 season. For the last two seasons, Conway was playing for the Black Caps on a casual contract as a result of his involvement in multiple T20 leagues. However, the Kiwis will take part in gruelling Test matches in the next one-year, and the southpaw has made himself available for red-ball cricket.

New Zealand’s contractual period runs from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, and Conway’s presence will be a huge boost for the Kiwis, who will miss the services of Kane Williamson after the legendary batter announced his retirement recently.

The New Zealand head coach, Rob Walter was pleased to have Conway's services back for the Test team.

"Devon has been a regular member of the side in all three formats for some time now, even whilst on a casual contract, so it's great to have a player of his calibre back on the central contract list, especially with the amount of exciting cricket coming up." Head Coach Rob Walter said.

Other major developments in New Zealand's Central Contract

Fast bowler Blair Tickner also gets a full-time contract after an impressive stint with his domestic side, Central Stags, and for the national team. He recently picked up a five-wicket haul against Ireland in the one-off Test match, and with more red-ball cricket in the upcoming months, the Kiwis have decided to strengthen their pace-bowling department.

In the upcoming few weeks, New Zealand cricket will announce the casual contract list as well, with the likes of Tim Seifert and Finn Allen expected to be a part of it.

Also, Zak Foulkes and Mitch Hay, who have both featured for the Kiwis across formats, have been retained in the Central Contract list, and the duo is set to play a key role for them in the next one-year.

The big boys of New Zealand cricket, Mitch Santner, Rachin Ravindra, Tom Latham, and Matt Henry have also been given the Central Contract by the NZC. The four players are a vital cog for the Black Caps across formats, and the board would hope they can continue to deliver for them.
