Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Gets Message From Pakistan [Source: X]
Days after Vaibhav Sooryavanshi got into a physical fight with Vishen Halambage during the Tri-Series, a former Pakistan cricketer shared his two cents on the incident and issued a warning to the 15-year-old kid.
The entire incident broke out during the India A vs Sri Lanka A game in Dambulla. Just after Sri Lanka won the game in a Super Over, Vishen Halambage reportedly sledged Sooryavanshi, and the teenager, in a fit of rage, shoved him, leading to a brief physical altercation.
Kamran Akmal reacts to the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi controversy
That being said, the fight was caught on live camera, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi instantly received backlash for his poor on-field behaviour. Adding more fuel to this debate, former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has also reacted to this controversy.
In his YouTube video, Akmal said Sooryavanshi is just 15 years old, and such arrogance does not suit him. He cannot disrespect senior players and shouldn’t try to be a villain.
Not only that, Akmal urged the BCCI and Indian management to train Sooryavanshi to do better and ensure that his talent doesn’t get wasted with this attitude.
Interestingly, after the fight, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi escaped a fine as the match referee didn’t hold him responsible for everything that went wrong in Dambulla.

How did the BCCI react to this fiasco?
Having said that, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia reacted to this controversy involving Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and said that players should only focus on their on-field performance and not collateral off-field issues.
When asked whether the BCCI had personally spoken to Sooryavanshi regarding the altercation, Saikia indicated that such matters fall under the responsibility of the coaching and support staff accompanying the team.
It’s clear that the BCCI does not want to intervene at all. India A and Sri Lanka A have made peace and moved on from the incident that escalated in the heat of the moment.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi departs after a strong start
Meanwhile, in the latest game between India A and Afghanistan A, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again wasted a good start. Batting on 38 off 28 balls, he was caught and sent back to the pavilion.
He had built a 75-run partnership with Priyansh Arya in 8 overs before Faridoon Dawoodzai broke the partnership. In 4 games so far, the 15-year-old has scored 117 runs without a single half-century, as his highest score was 44.
Needless to say, this is a sharp dip in performance for Vaibhav, who scored nearly 800 runs just weeks ago in the IPL 2026 season. But the doors are still open for him to do better.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will feature in the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England, where he is expected to get his debut cap.
