CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the same, stating that the 31-year-old will be sidelined from the tournament owing to a hamstring injury. After having retained Ellis late last year, the CSK franchise is now reportedly looking for the cricketer’s replacement. Under his leadership, Ireland did manage to secure comprehensive series wins over UAE and Italy back in January this year. A veteran of 343 internationals, Stirling will continue to play T20I cricket as a batter, and will remain as his team’s ODI captain.
