Rajasthan Royals candidates for Orange Cap in IPL 2026 [Source: @IPL/x]
Rajasthan Royals is among the rare franchises that have time and again blended youthful exuberance with understated pedigree, often punching above their perceived weight in the IPL. In a setup that continues to trust its batting core and belligerent stroke play, a few standout names often emerge as strong contenders to mount a serious challenge for the Orange Cap in every IPL season.
With IPL 2026 on the horizon, the Royals will once again look towards their most prolific or reliable batters to step up and spearhead their charge for the coveted cap. Here, we take a look at three serious Rajasthan Royals candidates who could bag the prestigious Orange Cap in the upcoming IPL 2026 season.
1. Yashasvi Jaiswal
Young Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, now a veteran of 67 IPL matches spread across the last six seasons, could well bag the prestigious ‘Orange Cap’ in the upcoming IPL 2026 season. The attacking opening batter has already emerged as Royals’ most successful batter in two of the last three editions of the tournament.

Back in IPL 2025 last year, Jaiswal aggregated 559 runs in just 14 innings at an average of 43 to finish seventh among the season’s leading run-makers. Moreover, the blistering opener produced his hitherto magnum opus in IPL 2023, amassing 625 runs in just 14 innings at an average of 48.07 and with a strike rate of over 160.

The 24-year-old will also enter IPL 2026 on the back of a successful home ODI series for Team India against South Africa, where he dismantled the visiting attack with a breathtaking unbeaten 116 in Vizag.
With form and an insatiable hunger for runs on his side, backed with his expressive batting approach, Yashasvi Jaiswal could well give even the finest in the game a run for their money this season.
2. Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Rajasthan Royals’ teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi scripted history by becoming the youngest cricketer to make his IPL debut, doing so in IPL 2025 shortly after turning 14. In his very first outing, the left-hander commemorated the occasion with a blistering 20-ball 34 against LSG in Jaipur.
A few days later, Suryavanshi bludgeoned a breathtaking 38-ball 101 as the Royals chased down Gujarat Titans’ 209-run total with relative ease. Striking seven boundaries and 11 towering sixes, and even outscoring his senior partner Yashasvi Jaiswal, it took a peach of a delivery from Prasidh Krishna to get him contained. Overall, in seven matches in his maiden IPL season, the dynamic opener amassed 252 runs at an average of 36 and with an astonishing strike rate of 206.55.

The mayhem did not stop there, as the attacking Bihar cricketer went on to scale greater heights on India’s U19 tours, the Youth Asia Cup, and during the 2025–26 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where his 84-ball 190 shattered numerous List A records.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s pre-IPL 2026 run culminated in him lifting the 2026 ICC Men’s U19 World Cup in Zimbabwe last month, where his boisterous 80-ball 175 dismantled England in a one-sided final.
3. Riyan Parag
After sporadically leading the Rajasthan Royals last year, Riyan Parag has now been appointed as the franchise’s full-time captain for IPL 2026. This elevation not only reflects the management’s faith in his leadership credentials, but also places the onus on him to deliver as a player from the frontlines.
Parag has already proven himself to be a credible top and middle-order batter for the Royals in the last two seasons. A couple of years ago in IPL 2024, the then 22-year-old finished third on the season’s run-scoring charts with his 573-run haul in just 14 innings at an explosive strike rate of 149.21 and with an average of 52.09.
With both added responsibility and a proven pedigree on his side, Riyan Parag could well emerge as a serious contender for the Orange Cap in IPL 2026.
