Injuries continue to haunt the Chennai Super Kings as nothing is going right for the former IPL champions. Throughout the ongoing season, several players have suffered injuries, and while some have recovered, others have failed and were ruled out of the tournament.

On Sunday, another CSK player was injured and will miss the rest of IPL 2026. This is a big setback for the team as the Super Kings are still in contention for a place in the IPL playoffs.

Ramakrishna Ghosh ruled out of IPL 2026

In the latest development, Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK Vs MI IPL match on Saturday, and he has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026. The update was given by the CSK franchise on their social media, and so far, no replacement has been announced.

Ghosh made his IPL debut against MI, on Saturday, and despite performing well, his campaign ended in misery. He is the latest entrant in the long list of CSK players who have been sidelined in the ongoing IPL season.

The right-arm bowler was purchased for 30 lakh by the CSK side, and now the team will aim to find a suitable replacement.

How Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained the injury

In his maiden IPL 2026 match vs MI, Ghosh impressed everyone with his medium pace, as he scalped a solitary wicket for 24 runs, with an economy of just 8 runs per over. He was also a livewire on the field as the player fetched a brilliant catch to dismiss Will Jacks.

However, while everything was going smoothly for the CSK debutant, his night ended in an injury as he put in a dive towards the end of the Mumbai Indians innings, and immediately he looked in discomfort.

After the match, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming said that Ghosh had a minor injury and would be ready for the next IPL game. However, Ghosh did not recover in time and was ruled out. In all likelihood, CSK would now bring in Gurjapneet Singh to replace him in the playing XI.
