In a recent development, Australia have announced a totally revamped squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of Pakistan and Bangladesh. The Pakistan tour is set to begin on May 30, just a day ahead of the IPL 2026 final.

The Pakistan series will feature a three-match ODI series that will end on June 4. Soon after the conclusion of the third ODI against the Men in Green, the Australians will travel to Bangladesh for a multi-format tour beginning on June 9.

The Kangaroos announced the white-ball squads for these two crucial tours, with Mitchell Marsh set to lead all the troops.

Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc Excluded From The Squad

Meanwhile, multiple marquee players will miss the series due to the ongoing IPL. Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood have both been rested for the entire trip. Mitchell Starc has also missed the ODI assignments after previously retiring from T20I cricket.

Which IPL 2026 Players Are Included For Bangladesh Tour?

Meanwhile, Travis Head, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis, and Xavier Bartlett will complete their IPL duties with their franchises for the playoffs, which forced the selectors to split the touring squads across formats.

Travis Head, a destructive opener for Australia, is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are doing well in the race for a playoffs spot on the points table.

Cooper Connolly and Xavier Bartlett too have been regular mainstays for Punjab Kings, who are again one of the top contenders for a top-four spot.

Cameron Green and Josh Inglis are also featuring for KKR and LSG respectively while Nathan Ellis was earlier ruled out of the IPL 2026 due to a hamstring injury. Therefore, Ellis was already available for selection.

Will IPL Players Miss The bangladesh Tour?

Hence, the Australia quartet alongside Green and Inglis will most definitely feature in the playoffs, which begin on May 26. And without a much rest period, even if their IPL teams get eliminated, it will be impossible for them to join the Pakistan tour.

Therefore, they are expected to return for the Bangladesh ODI series and feature in them, which will begin on June 9.

Maxwell Snubbed, Hardie In

Interestingly, veteran all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been omitted from the T20I series against Bangladesh despite being available for selection.

However, in another significant development, Aaron Hardie returns for the T20 leg after his impressive all-round performance in the PSL 2026 final.

Players like Liam Scott and Joel Davies have also been included after receiving their maiden international call-ups.

Scott enjoyed a standout season for South Australia cricket team across formats and was included in both ODI squads of Bangladesh and Pakistan tour, while Davies will travel for the Pakistan ODIs and Bangladesh T20Is.
