Swashbuckling SRH batter Abhishek Sharma issued a warning to RCB, as he made a stunning revelation about his opening partner Travis Head ahead of IPL 2026.
According to the official IPL 2026 schedule, SRH will begin their campaign with a high-octane clash against defending champions RCB.
The star-studded teams are set to collide at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Both Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head are expected to play crucial roles for the Orange Army in the IPL 2026 opener.
Meanwhile, as they get ready for the highly anticipated encounter, scheduled for March 28, Abhishek has made an interesting revelation about Head.
Abhishek Sharma reveals the team Travis Head likes to play against
Destructive Australian batter Travis Head began his IPL career with a two-year stint with RCB. After representing the Red Brigade in 2016 and 2017, Head went unsold in several seasons before making an IPL comeback with SRH.
The Sunrisers secured his services at the 2024 auction before retaining Head for the subsequent editions. The Australian cricketer has since become an integral member of the team, powering them to many memorable victories.
Travis Head recently participated in the T20 World Cup, where Australia suffered a humiliating group-stage elimination. As he eyes redemption in the IPL 2026, Abhishek Sharma has made an interesting revelation about Head before their season opener.

In the SRH fans' meet, Abhishek was asked his favourite team to play against in the IPL. The southpaw stated that although he doesn't have a favourite opponent, his opening partner Travis Head loves to play against RCB.
Thus, the Punjab-born cricketer indirectly issued a warning to the Royal Challengers, asking them to prepare for the Head storm in the IPL 2026 opener.
Travis Head's love affair Vs RCB in IPL
Abhishek disclosed that Head loves playing against RCB, and the numbers back up his claim. The Australian batter has been a phenomenal performer against the Royal Challengers, emerging as a consistent thorn in their path in the tournament.
Statistically, Head has hammered 120 runs, including a century, against the Royal Challengers in the IPL. He averages 40 while striking at an incredible rate of 222.22 against them in the IPL.
Therefore, considering Head's record against RCB, the left-handed opener is expected to make an impact in the IPL 2026 opener at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Reasons why Travis Head could succeed vs RCB in IPL 2026
Apart from his record against RCB, Travis Head's prolific numbers at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (183 runs in 4 innings, average- 91.50, Strike Rate- 186.73) and the absence of Josh Hazlewood are the primary factors why he could succeed in the first match of the IPL 2026.
Given that Head has some evident technical flaws, Hazlewood could've troubled him with the new ball, courtesy of his ability to generate prodigious movement off the deck.
However, with Hazlewood set to miss the first couple of games, Head can exploit the Royal Challengers' bowling attack comprising Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma.
