The intra-squad match between the Sunrisers players witnessed scintillating stroke-play from the batters. Opening batter Abhishek Sharma, who had a torrid run in the T20 World Cup 2026, hammered 94 runs off just 42 deliveries.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed SRH captain Ishan Kishan blazed his way through to a belligerent half-century before being dismissed by Zeeshan Ansari.
The swashbuckling southpaw was at his absolute best in the T20 World Cup and sustained his purple patch in the intra-squad face-off. In the absence of Travis Head, Ishan smashed his teammates to all parts of the ground, scoring 72 runs off just 24 deliveries.
Ishan was playing for SRH-A, and his team was chasing a mammoth target of 283 runs. As he was looking sublime, the SRH-B team brought Zeeshan Ansari into the attack to dismiss him.

Although Ishan effortlessly dispatched the leg spinner to the fence and collected 20 runs off his first five deliveries, Zeeshan Ansari eventually got his revenge by dismissing the set batter.

Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad had a disappointing tournament last season, suffering a group-stage elimination from the tournament. Considering they are eyeing redemption this season, the Sunrisers' management would hope for a spirited effort from their players.
The Ishan Kishan-Zeeshan Ansari fight certainly sparked rumours of a rift in the SRH camp, and if that is the case, the Orange Army must be hoping for a change in the dressing room atmosphere.

He bagged six wickets for the Orange Army last season and would be keen to improve his numbers as a strike bowler in the IPL 2026.
