The MLC 2026 has started with some exhilarating matches, and match 6 of the tournament featured the Los Angeles Knight Riders up against the Seattle Orcas. The contest featured a batting-heavy Knight Riders against the Orcas, and it was total domination from the LAKR as they thumped their opponents to win by 81 runs.
One of the stars of the show for the Knight Riders was their all-rounder, Rovman Powell. Every single batter in the Knight Riders setup got a start, but they all threw it away as the team needed a solid finish to reach a respectable total.
That finish was provided by Rovman Powell, who made a mockery of the Orcas attack, and he took a special liking towards medium pacer, Dasun Shanaka.
Powell blasts 30 runs in 1 over to punish Shanaka
It was the 17th over of the match, and the Knight Riders were struggling at 138/5, as they needed a flurry of boundaries to make a competitive total. The charge was provided by the West Indian as he started the over with a six over the deep mid-wicket region as Shanaka’s slower ball was punished.
After the second six, Shanaka came around the wicket, but that move also failed as the LAKR batter punished him with three more sixes as he was closer to the record of smashing six sixes in an over.

30 runs were smacked off the first five balls as Powell was close to history, but his attempted shot for a maximum failed and Shanaka had the last laugh with the big wicket. The Orcas bowler got the prized wicket, but it came at a cost of conceding 5 sixes and 30 runs.
Knight Riders thrash Orcas to go top of the table
Two wins out of two have helped the Los Angeles Knight Riders cement their top spot in the points table as they easily decimated the Orcas to clinch a massive win.

Batting first, Colin Munro and Andre Fletcher gave a quickfire start to the Knight Riders before they lost a flurry of wickets post the power play. The team was in desperate need of a brilliant finish, and Powell raised his hands as he scored a sublime 37 off just 11 balls, and alongside him, Jason Holder smashed 23 off 14 t0o help the team post 196.
In reply, the Orcas were never really in the hunt as they lost wickets at regular intervals and got bundled out for just 115 inside 16 overs.
Rovman Powell's T20 form in 2026 at a glance
As a bowler, Powell has not been utilised to his fullest in T20s, but as a finisher, the West Indian has been one of the best in 2026. He was pivotal for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2026 season, as he played a couple of key knocks down the order.
In 13 T20I matches this year, the West Indian has contributed 279 runs, with a strike rate of 139. Now, he is flourishing for LAKR as his blistering knock helped the side sit at top of the table.
