When was the last time we witnessed a great buzz surrounding the debut of a cricketer? That hype has been created by India’s Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, as the 15-year-old is likely to make his T20I debut in the first match against Ireland on Friday. On the back of an exemplary IPL 2026, Sooryavanshi was picked in the T20Is, and he could become India’s youngest debutant in the first game of the series.

Sooryavanshi dismantled the best in the business during the IPL season, and the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel made an instant call to pick him in the T20Is for the Ireland and England tour.

The entire nation has been buzzing as they could witness history on Friday, and not only the people of India, but the cricketing fraternity is also excited for his potential debut.

The teenager will certainly have pressure on him, but ahead of the IND Vs IRE series, he has been given special privileges, and here is a list of them all.

1) Family Accompaniment

The BCCI has arranged special privileges for the 15-year-old Indian star, permitting his parents to accompany him at the board's expense. The board will bear all the expenses for his parents to join him for the entire UK tour.

The decision was made for the well-being of the teenager and to help the youngster settle into an adult environment. Sooryavanshi has been an exception as the BCCI doesn’t entertain such policies for other Indian cricketers.

2) Seating capacity increased for fans to witness Sooryavanshi's batting

The two T20Is of the India vs Ireland series will be played at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast. However, the venue can only hold up to 4200 fans, but looking at the craze generated by Sooryavanshi in Ireland, Cricbuzz reported that Cricket Ireland is planning to extend the stadium capacity.

3) Separate changing rooms

Under the ICC, ECB, and Cricket Ireland’s child safety regulations, players under the age of 16 cannot share the same dressing room with adults. Hence, the 15-year-old prodigy will use separate changing rooms before and after the T20Is.

4) Broadcasters To Tap Sooryavanshi's Rising Popularity

Earlier, the India vs Ireland T20Is were supposed to start at 7:30 PM IST, but reportedly, the board has altered the timings, looking at Sooryavanshi’s growing popularity. The broadcasters also want the maximum number of people to witness the Sooryavanshi hype, and as a result, the timings have been changed, and now, the matches will be televised at 6 PM IST.

5) Ireland series was on the verge of cancellation, but Sooryavanshi saved it

There was unrest and violence in Belfast, Ireland, a couple of weeks ago, and the India vs Ireland series was on the verge of collapse.

More than anything else, the series was financially important for Cricket Ireland, as the India arrival, even if it was just two T20Is, would have given them profits.

Also, if reports are to be believed, then even Cricket Ireland wants to cash in on Sooryavanshi’s popularity, as they want the fans to attend the games to witness history, and in the process, the board can earn millions.
