Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished the IPL 2026 as champions, swatting aside Gujarat Titans in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium. Under Rajat Patidar's leadership, RCB clinched their second IPL title, joining arch-rivals Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the elite feat.
While Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shattered multiple records and bagged several awards after the IPL final, there are some all-time feats that still remained unbroken. As the IPL 2026 has marked its conclusion, here are five marvellous records that couldn't be broken this season.
5 all-time records that remained unbroken in IPL 2026
Highest individual score in IPL history
West Indies legend Chris Gayle holds the record for the highest individual score in IPL history. The RCB great hammered a belligerent 66-ball 175 against Pune Warriors back in 2013.
His record is still intact, as KL Rahul narrowly missed the historic milestone by 24 runs. The Delhi Capitals opener smashed 152 runs against Punjab Kings, but failed to go past Gayle's iconic 175 in IPL 2026.
Most runs in an IPL season
Talismanic batter Virat Kohli struck 973 runs in IPL 2016, becoming the batter with the most runs in a single edition.
Although several batters, including Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, showcased remarkable consistency, they couldn't surpass Kohli's tally in IPL 2026.
Sooryavanshi bagged the Orange Cap with 776 runs, falling short of Virat Kohli's all-time record by 198 runs.
Fastest hundred in IPL history
RCB legend Chris Gayle holds the record for the fastest hundred in IPL history, having smashed a 30-ball ton in the tournament.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was on the verge of surpassing Gayle, but missed the milestone by the barest of margins, as he was dismissed by Praful Hinge for a 29-ball 97.
Although Sooryavanshi brought up a scintillating 36-ball hundred against SRH, he couldn't go past Gayle, who did it in 30 deliveries way back in 2013.
Most wickets in a season
Harshal Patel and Dwayne Bravo jointly hold the record for the most wickets in an IPL edition. Harshal bagged 32 wickets for RCB in IPL 2021, while Bravo had exactly the same number of scalps in the 2013 edition of the tournament.
Talking about the IPL 2026, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kagiso Rabada exhibited remarkable consistency and red-hot form for RCB and Gujarat Titans, respectively.
However, despite their prolific run, Bhuvneshwar and Rabada failed to break the record set by Harshal Patel and Dwayne Bravo.
Bhuvneshwar managed 28 scalps, while Kagiso Rabada played a pivotal role for the Titans, sealing the prestigious Purple Cap for his bowling heroics.
Most hundreds in a single season
Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler have the joint-most hundreds in a single IPL season, having slammed four centuries in an edition. Virat Kohli did it in 2016, while Jos Buttler replicated a similar feat six years later in 2022.
Now coming to IPL 2026, Sanju Samson was the only batter to score more than one hundred this season. The CSK opener slammed two tons, while 13 batters, including Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, managed to score a hundred in IPL 2026.
