Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has unveiled the list of cricketers who have been selected in the National Player Contracts for the 2026-27 season. The board named as many as 46 players in the list, including star internationals like all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, Kusal Mendis and Dasun Shanaka.
As confirmed by the SLC official website, the contract will run from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027. The board also stated that the players have been categorized under A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and Central Contract based on “performance, consistency, fitness, potential, and the strategic requirements of the national teams.”
SLC names National Player Contracts List
On Tuesday, June 2, the SLC announced a list of 46 Sri Lanka cricketers who have been selected in the National Player Contracts for the 2026-27 cricketing season.
In their official website, the board stated that the contracts are aimed to ensure that the selected cricketers are provided with the “necessary support, structure, and resources to perform at the highest level of the game.”

Of the 46 players selected, as many as seven cricketers were new inclusions to the SLC national player contracts. The new inclusions are Kamil Mishara, Lasith Croospulle, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Isitha Wijesundera, Wanuja Sahan, Dilum Sudeera and Tharindu Rathnayake. Here is a list of all 46 players selected by the recently-revamped SLC committee.

SLC revamped after government push
Not long ago, the SLC also underwent some major changes after facing increasing pressure from the Sri Lanka government. Former captain Kumar Sangakkara joined the new SLC as one of the nine Transformation Committee members to run Sri Lanka Cricket.
Eran Wickramaratne, who is also a former Member of the Sri Lankan Parliament, was appointed as SLC Chairman. Fellow ex-cricketer Roshan Mahanama, Sidath Wettimuny, Prakash Schaffter, Avanthi Colombage, Thushira Radella, Upul Kumarapperuma and Dinal Phillips were the other members to join the board.
What’s next for Sri Lanka cricket?
The Sri Lanka cricket team is currently on an all-format tour of the West Indies. Under the leadership of wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis, the Sri Lankans will start off the tour with a three-match ODI series against the hosts between June 3 and June 8 in Kingston.
The tour will continue with three T20Is and a two-match Test series between the two sides up until July 7.
