Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s remarkable IPL 2026 campaign might have ended in a loss against the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 of the season. Nonetheless, the 15-year-old made sure to etch his name in the history books for fans to remember for years to come. 

Playing only his second season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Rajasthan Royals teenager became the first player in tournament history to win five major individual awards in a single edition.

Although RR nearly fell short of reaching the final, Sooryavanshi was undoubtedly their best player and, by extension, the best in the tournament. The teenage prodigy swept all major records at the awards night in the IPL 2026. 

"It feels nice, but there is pressure because I am doing interviews. It is a proud moment and I will try and do well next season too," Sooryavanshi said after collecting his awards at the end of the final.

1) Orange Cap- 776 runs 

For the unversed, Sooryavanshi finished the season as the leading run scorer in the tournament with 776 runs to his name. 

At just 15 years old, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also became the youngest player ever to win the IPL Orange Cap, surpassing the previous record set by Gujarat Titans' Sai Sudharsan last season.

It is worth noting that Vaibhav left behind a list of prominent names to secure the award, namely, Shubman Gill (732 runs), Sai Sudharsan (722 runs), Virat Kohli (675 runs), and Heinrich Klaasen (624 runs). 

2) Most Valuable Player, 436.5 points across 16 matches

The 15-year-old sensation amassed 436.5 MVP points across 16 matches, capping off an unbelievable campaign where he also took home the Orange Cap by scoring 776 runs

His prolific season featured an astonishing strike rate and record-breaking power-hitting that dismantled bowling attacks throughout the tournament.

3) Emerging Player of the Season

The Rajasthan Royals’ opener was named the Emerging Player of the Season for IPL 2026. The 15-year-old rising star had a historic, record-breaking campaign, sweeping multiple major batting awards at the tournament.

4) Super Striker of the Season, Strike rate of 237.30 

The boss baby had an extraordinary tournament for Rajasthan Royals, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 776 runs at an exceptional strike rate of 237.30.

Sooryavanshi’s extraordinary season featured a record 72 sixes and 63 fours. Thus, out of 776 runs in the tournament, Vaibhav scored 684 runs from boundaries, that is 88.14% of his runs. 

5) Super Sixes of the Season, 72 sixes

Sooryavanshi also hit 72 sixes in IPL 2026, breaking Gayle's record of most sixes (59) in an IPL season, and played a key role in RR making it to the playoffs. They eventually lost to GT in Qualifier 2 in New Chandigarh.

Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad came second with 43 sixes, followed by RCB captain Rajat Patidar with 41. Ryan Rickelton of Mumbai Indians hit 38, Mitchell Marsh of LSG managed 36, and Shubman Gill rounded off the top six with 33.
