It has been six years since MI last won their IPL title, their longest spell in the history without a trophy. Besides the poor performance, several rift reports hit the camp. Notably, Hardik Pandya faced a lot of criticism for his leadership, and it seemed the team was divided into two groups.

A report from RevSportz stated that the Mumbai Indians are looking to bring Yashasvi Jaiswal to the side by trading Hardik Pandya to the Rajasthan Royals. Further, Suryakumar Yadav is also set to leave, which will free up 16.35 crores in the bank.
Now, there are several teams looking to buy the former India captain, because he is just out of form, but not out of demand. The right-handed batter scored just 270 runs in 13 innings, but his past heroics is good enough reasons for teams to target. Teams That Should Target Suryakumar Yadav For IPL 2027
1. Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants are the frontrunners to sign Suryakumar Yadav, and they have enough reasons to call dibs on the right-handed batter. Firstly, LSG finished 10th, and Rishabh Pant resigned from captaincy. Also, there are rumours that Pant has almost completed a trade back to the Delhi Capitals.
Now, LSG are without a face and a top-order batter. Therefore, SKY can come in and be the new captain, which he wanted at MI as well. Suryakumar Yadav is no less than a face himself, and his addition will be a great boost to the Sanjeev Goenka-owned franchise.

Gujarat Titans reached the IPL 2026 final, where they suffered a defeat against RCB. GT’s worst fear turned into reality on their best day as their middle-order got exposed against the RCB. The entire season, Gujarat depended on Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler.
