The Pakistan vs Bangladesh ODI series has been due for all the excitement after the super climactic T20 World Cup 2026 win of India. While the Men in Green crashed out after the Super 8 stage, the Bengal Tigers meanwhile even failed to make it to the tournament.
Pakistan and Bangladesh however, were in a bit of a confusion ahead of the three-match series since travel was a concern for the ongoing geopolitical tussle in West Asia. Nevertheless, the troops have travelled and the squads are ready to take on each other.
Yet, a question remains. Out of the 15-member squad remains many names from the Men in Green who are yet to redeem themselves from a string of poor and unexpected failures in either global events or from recent gameplays.
Let’s take a look at some of these Pakistan players who need to fix their form in the ODI series to stay in the long game.
Pakistan Players Who Can Redeem Themselves In Bangladesh ODIs
1) Haris Rauf
Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has just come off a decent bowling display in the recently concluded Big Bash League 2025–26, where he played for the Melbourne Stars. He managed to pick up 20 wickets from 11 matches, though at a relatively expensive economy rate of 8.24.
However, Haris Rauf’s ODI form still needs some polishing despite his last breathtaking display, where he claimed nine wickets in three matches against Sri Lanka in November 2025.

[Haris Rauf Form in ODIs]
The pacer has been one of the leading attackers with the ball for the Men in Green, alongside Shaheen Afridi. His inclusion in the squad as well as in the playing XI reinstates Pakistan’s belief in him.
Hence, to maintain that trust, Haris will have to improve his numbers, which dipped from 2024 to 2025, when both his economy rate and strike rate saw a noticeable rise in ODI matches.
This year, Shaheen Afridi has been in one of the worst phases of his career in both T20Is and ODIs. In the T20 World Cup, Afridi managed to scalp eight wickets from five matches. However, in the T20I series against Australia, he picked up only two wickets from two games.
His Big Bash League stint also did not go well, as he managed just two wickets from four matches. In addition, he had a disappointing run in ODIs in 2025, where he took 16 wickets from 12 matches.
Despite leading Pakistan’s bowling attack, Afridi has struggled to deliver the significant wicket hauls that his team often relies on to win matches. However, this dip in form was not the case in 2023, when he enjoyed an impressive run with 42 wickets, including an economy rate of 5.59 at an average of 24.05.

[Shaheen Afridi Form in ODIs]
Therefore, Shaheen Afridi needs a strong turnaround with the ball if he wants to establish himself not only as a leader but also as a match-winner through his performances on the field.
3) Mohammad Rizwan
Mohammad Rizwan, the trustworthy and consistent top-order batter of Pakistan, did not have a very good outing in the Big Bash League during his most recent appearance in the tournament.
He endured one of his poorest runs of form, scoring just 187 runs from 10 innings at a strike rate of 102.75. Although this was in the T20 format, Rizwan’s recent struggles could raise concerns about his performance in the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh.

[Mohammad Rizwan Across ODI Series Since 2024]
In 2025, Rizwan featured in three bilateral ODI series, against West Indies, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. While his performance against Sri Lanka was outstanding, he struggled against the West Indies, where he averaged only 23 in three matches. Against South Africa, he managed just 91 runs from three innings.
As a result, Pakistan will be expecting greater reliability from the experienced batter. With his form currently inconsistent, Rizwan will need a strong turnaround to redeem himself in the upcoming clashes.
