Akshat Raghuwanshi’s Early Life and Background
Akshat Raghuwanshi was born in Gwalior and grew up in Ashok Nagar, a small town in Madhya Pradesh.
His cricketing journey began extremely early, largely thanks to the encouragement of his father, Krishna Pal Raghuwanshi, when he was just three years old. Using plastic and tennis balls in their backyard, his father helped him develop the basics of batting long before he joined professional coaching.
Recognising that Ashok Nagar lacked proper cricketing facilities, his family moved to Indore when Raghuwanshi was around nine years old. The relocation allowed him to train in structured academies and compete in stronger local tournaments, accelerating his development as a cricketer.
Akshat Raghuwanshi’s Domestic Career
Akshat Raghuwanshi’s rise through the Madhya Pradesh system gathered pace after the COVID-19 pandemic, when he impressed selectors with consistent performances in age-group cricket and local leagues.
The stylish batter made a dream start to his FC career when he debuted for Madhya Pradesh against Meghalaya and scored a century in his first innings.
His confident start at the domestic level quickly established him as a promising middle-order batter. During the 2021–22 Ranji Trophy season, Raghuwanshi also played a significant role in Madhya Pradesh’s historic title-winning campaign, featuring four consecutive fifty-plus scores.
Later, Raghuwanshi made his T20 debut for Madhya Pradesh in the 2022 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Known for his fearless approach and attacking stroke play, he quickly became a dynamic batter in the shortest format.
His reputation as a power-hitter grew further through his performances in local franchise leagues, particularly the Madhya Pradesh League, where he scored a spellbinding century in 2025.
Akshat Raghuwanshi’s IPL Career
Akshat Raghuwanshi entered the IPL 2026 auction as an uncapped domestic talent with a base price of INR 30 lakh. His consistent domestic performances and explosive innings in the MPL had already caught the attention of several IPL scouts.
During the December 2025 auction, LSG secured the young batter for INR 2.2 crore, making him one of the most talked-about uncapped signings of the auction.
