Kushagra's century helped India U19 finish Day 1 in a strong position as he remained unbeaten on 103 at stumps with India U19 reaching 253/3 at the end of the opening day's play in the second Youth Test against Sri Lanka U19.

Kushagra Ojha is a 16-year-old left-handed batter from Rajasthan and will turn 17 soon. Batting at the top of the order, he has already caught the attention of many with his sound technique and composure at a young age.

What stands out about Kushagra Ojha is the maturity in his batting. He is equally comfortable against pace and spin, plays shots all around the ground, and has shown the temperament to build long innings while adapting to different match situations.

Kushagra announced himself with a brilliant 92 on his India U19 debut in the Youth ODI series against Sri Lanka in Hambantota. He has now followed it up with his maiden India U19 century in the second Youth Test, proving he has the game to succeed in both the 50-over and longer formats while batting anywhere in the top four.

Kushagra Ojha's Journey to India U19 So Far

Kushagra Ojha's journey to the India U19 team began with Rajasthan's age-group setup. The left-handed batter represented Rajasthan in the Vijay Merchant Trophy (U16) from the 2023-24 season, where he steadily worked his way through the ranks with consistent performances.

His breakthrough came during the 2025-26 domestic season when he captained Rajasthan U19 in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Kushagra scored 565 runs at an average of 51.36, including two centuries and four half-centuries, helping his team reach the quarterfinals of the prestigious tournament.

Kushagra's performances earned him a place in India's plans for the U19 level. He featured in the U19 Challenger Trophy later in 2025 ahead of the 2026 U19 World Cup, before attending the India U19 camp earlier this year at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. After impressing the coaches there, he was selected for India's ongoing U19 tour of Sri Lanka.

Kushagra Ojha's unbeaten century has kept India U19's hopes of ending the Sri Lanka tour on a positive note alive. The visitors lost the three-match Youth ODI series 2-1 after winning the opener, while the first Youth Test ended in a draw.
