The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the Men's and Women's Player of the Month winners for June 2026 after another action-packed month of international cricket.
New Zealand pace bowler was rewarded for leading his side to a memorable overseas Test series triumph, while an England opener received the honour after rewriting several records during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup on home soil.
Both players outperformed strong competition from India, Bangladesh and Scotland to clinch the prestigious monthly awards following a series of match-winning performances.
Nathan Smith wins ICC Men's Player of the Month for June 2026
New Zealand fast bowler Nathan Smith was named the ICC Men's Player of the Month for June 2026 after playing a crucial role in the Black Caps' memorable 2-1 Test series victory over England.
Smith beat Bangladesh all-rounder Mossadek Hossain and India's Shubman Gill to claim the award following an outstanding month with both ball and bat.
The 28-year-old finished as the highest wicket-taker of the series with 16 wickets and was also named the Player of the Series.
His biggest contribution came in the opening Test at Lord's, where he registered career-best figures of 6/70 in the second innings after picking up three wickets in the first.
Although New Zealand lost that match, Smith continued producing crucial performances as the visitors bounced back to win the final two Tests.

He also contributed a valuable 38 in the second Test before returning with figures of 4/91 in the first innings of the series decider, helping New Zealand secure an 82-run first-innings lead before adding two more wickets to seal the famous series victory.
Speaking after receiving the award, Smith admitted the recognition was special despite never chasing individual honours.
"This is really special. It was a great tour of England for the boys, and this is pretty cool. I don't usually play for individual awards, but it's nice to receive this recognition and, more importantly, to have contributed to a series win."
Danni Wyatt-Hodge wins ICC Women's Player of the Month
England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge was crowned the ICC Women's Player of the Month for June 2026 after enjoying a sensational campaign during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
Wyatt-Hodge edged past Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce and India spinner Sree Charani to claim the honour, becoming a two-time ICC Player of the Month winner after previously receiving the award in November 2024.
The experienced opener finished as the tournament's highest run-scorer with 302 runs and became the first batter in Women's T20 World Cup history to breach the 300-run mark in a single edition.
Her campaign began with a magnificent unbeaten 105 against Sri Lanka before she followed it up with a match-winning 65 against West Indies and another unbeaten 89 against defending champions New Zealand, helping England reach the final.
Across June, Wyatt-Hodge accumulated 287 runs in six matches at an outstanding average of 71.75 and a strike rate of 151.85.
Reacting to the achievement, the England batter expressed her delight at receiving the award after performing on the biggest stage at home.
"I'm delighted to win the ICC Player of the Month award, especially since it came for performances at a World Cup on home soil."
Smith and Wyatt-Hodge beat strong competition
Nathan Smith's consistency throughout the England Test series helped him stay ahead of Bangladesh's Mossadek Hossain and India's Shubman Gill in the men's category.
Meanwhile, Wyatt-Hodge's record-breaking World Cup campaign proved too strong for Scotland skipper Kathryn Bryce and India's Shree Charani, both of whom also enjoyed impressive tournaments.
