Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya showed no respect to any Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowlers in Match 17 of IPL 2026 in Mullanpur. The 24-year-old made 57 off just 20 deliveries, and in the process, he took himself to the IPL record books for the last season’s runner-ups.

Before losing his wicket to Shivang Kumar, Priyansh got to a spectacular half-century in just 15 balls. It was the second-fastest half-century by a Punjab Kings player, only behind KL Rahul.

Rahul got there in 14 balls during IPL 2018, against Delhi Capitals.

Earlier, it was Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head who left Punjab Kings bowlers in tatters in Mullanpur. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh then began the carnage, overshadowing all the thrashing that had happened previously.

Punjab Kings Rely On Shreyas Iyer Vs SRH

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings have reached 128/3 after 10.2 overs, with Shreyas Iyer in the middle. While Priyansh made 57 off 20 balls, which had five sixes and five fours, Prabhsimran played an important knock of 51 off 25 balls.

On the other hand, Cooper Connolly, who made all the headlines on his IPL debut, could not stay long against SRH. The Australian all-rounder, who is yet to bowl this season, could only manage 11 off 12 balls.

For SRH, Shivang Kumar took all three wickets, keeping the Orange Army in the game single-handedly.

Punjab Kings have brought Nehal Wadhera in the middle as an impact substitute, bringing him in place of Yuzvendra Chahal. If Punjab Kings win it, Wadhera must bring out his A game to join the company of Shreyas Iyer.
