Prithvi Shaw made a return to IPL after a year’s absence as the Delhi Capitals signed the right-handed batter for 75 lakhs for his second stint with the franchise. The 26-year-old is patiently waiting for his chance as the India star is way behind in the pecking order.

However, in the latest events, a video has gone viral on social media claiming that Shaw, out of opportunities, has left the Delhi Capitals’ camp mid-season and gone for vacations with his fiance in Bangkok.
The clip has spread like fire on the internet, and the fans are bashing the 26-year-old for unprofessional behaviour. They raised questions and even called for a ban without even knowing the truth behind the video.

Truth Behind Prithvi Shaw’s Viral Video
For the unversed, Prithvi Shaw is being targetted unneccessarily because the video is older and is just being circulated now. If we check Shaw’s Instagram account, then he shared several photos on his handle on March 3 from his Bangkok Trip.
He can be seen in the same outfit as the one in the video circulating now. Therefore, it is confirmed that the video is from Shaw and his wife’s visit to Bangkok early in March, even before IPL teams began their pre-season camps.
At present, Prithvi Shaw is committed to playing IPL and has travelled with Delhi Capitals to Chennai to face Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk Stadium on April 11.

“That's exactly why I'm playing… there's no doubt I want to come back to the Indian team,” Shaw says with conviction. But this time, the intent is backed by action. “I feel like I'm putting in two to three times more effort than before. I'm giving 200%—not just on match days, but in practice as well,” remarked Prithvi Shaw to NDTV on his India comeback.
For the unversed, Shaw last featured for India in 2021 and it has been five years since his last international appearance.
