In the first three matches, both the SRH openers blew hot and cold as the franchise desperately needed them to fire all guns blazing.

Abhishek scores 18 ball fifty, Head plays second fiddle

Punjab Kings won the toss, and Iyer’s decision to bowl first immediately backfired as Head and Abhishek made them pay with some scintillating batting performance. The Indian opener was the chief aggressor as he took down Arshdeep Singh with ease and never looked back.

Abhishek also hammered Xavier Bartlett, and Vyshak Vijaykumar as the southpaw slammed a majestic 18-ball fifty to help SRH get a flying start. Head, who is equally dangerous, played the second fiddle role to perfection as he took his time, but once settled in, he too, tore apart the PBKS attack.

Abhishek departed for a well-compiled 74 off 28, and Head was sent back for 38 off 23 balls.

The SRH opening duo added 120 runs in the blink of an eye before Shashank Singh dismissed both the batters in quick succession.

Despite losing two wickets, SRH batters continued the momentum as Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan continued the onslaught before Arshdeep Singh got rid of the dangerous SRH skipper, Kishan. At the time of writing, the Orange Army are 171/3 inside 14 overs.
