Gujarat Titans received a massive humbling from Mumbai Indians in match number 30 of the IPL 2026 season. Chasing 200 for a win at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, the hosts folded up for just 100 in 15.5 overs.

Incidentally, apart from getting their three-match winning streak halted by the Mumbai Indians, the Titans franchise has also registered a huge unwanted batting record in the process.

Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians: As it happened

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to field first. Kagiso Rabada responded his skipper’s call with two early wickets with the new ball, that of in-form Quinton de Kock and Danish Malewar. The speedster also knocked over Suryakumar Yadav with a peach as the visitors slipped to 44-3 inside the powerplay.

However, struggling Tilak Varma led Mumbai Indians’ counterattacking fightback by firing a 45-ball unbeaten century. The cricketer clattered eight boundaries and seven sixes as he accumulated 82 runs off the final 23 balls of his innings. Naman Dhir also composed 45 off 32 balls at number three.

Even though Rabada snared impressive figures of 3-33, the Mumbai Indians franchise still managed to mount 199-5 in 20 overs.

In response, the Gujarat Titans folded up for just 100 in 15.5 overs. The hosts started off by losing opener Sai Sudharsan for a first-ball duck to hand Jasprit Bumrah his first wicket of the IPL 2026 season. The hosts also struggled to overcome Ashwani Kumar, who picked up a four-wicket haul at an expense of just 24 runs.

AM Ghazanfar and Mitchell Santner also picked up two wickets each as the visitors secured a comfortable 99-run win to lift themselves up on the IPL 2026 points table.

Titans to face RCB in must-win game

The Shubman Gill-led side will now face defending champions RCB in a must-win game on Friday, April 24 later this week. The match will be hosted by the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
