Sahibzada Farhan continued to do wonderful things for Pakistan during the ongoing T20 World Cup. The 29-year-old made headlines once again on Tuesday when the Men in Green were up against England in Pallekele.
Having made seven fours and two sixes in a 45-ball 63, Farhan took his T20 World Cup 2026 tally to 283 runs. Only Babar Azam has had more runs in a single T20 World Cup edition, which, in all likelihood, is no longer safe should they qualify for the semi-finals.

In fact, even if Pakistan fail to qualify for the knockouts, Farhan can still leave behind Babar’s tally, as they are still to play against Sri Lanka, scheduled to play on February 28 in at the same venue.

On the other hand, Babar is having a mixed T20 World Cup this time around. He had a chance to turn things around against England, but a slow 24-ball 25 did not help him to make a statement.
Babar Azam's best T20 World Cup campaign came in 2021, the year they defeated India by 10 wickets. Mohammad Rizwan, his opening partner back then, played importantly well, tallying 281 runs in the same edition.

Pakistan Close On 164/9 Vs England
At the end of the innings, Pakistan finished with 164/9 against England, with Farhan top-scoring with a 45-ball 63. Saim Ayub and captain Salman Agha failed once again, making the life for others.
Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan chipped in with brisk cameos, scoring 16-ball 25 and 11-ball 23 respectively, while Usman Khan, Mohammad Nawaz and Shaheen Afridi struggled to last long. Due to that, Pakistan, who got off to a steady start, could not go past 170.
This is a must-win game for Pakistan, who saw the New Zealand fixture washout on the other day due to relentless rain in Colombo. If they get defeated by Harry Brook and his boys, the qualification scenario for them to be in the semi-finals would be a bit tricky.
In simple terms, the fate will no longer be in their own hands. To avoid that, the spin-heavy Pakistan attack will look to defend the total, with Shaheen Afridi returning to the mix to sharpen the attack.
