Andre Fletcher Joins Caribbean T20 Royalty During CPL 2026

Andre Fletcher, now 38 years old, has been a veteran of many T20 leagues. Finally, on Thursday, while playing in the CPL 2026, he joined probably the format’s four greatest batters from the Caribbean region: Kieron Pollard, Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran and Andre Russell.

On his 352nd T20 innings and 360th match overall, Fletcher crossed the 9000-run mark in T20s with an unbeaten 48 in Match 5 of CPL 2026 between Saint Lucia Kings and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.

Fittingly, Andre Fletcher won the Player of the Match award on his most memorable day, as his unbeaten knock helped St Kitts and Nevis Patriots defeat Saint Lucia Kings by five wickets with 16 balls to spare.

Andre Fletcher Enters Elite 9000-Run Club

As Fletcher has now more than 9000 T20 runs, he became the fifth player from the Caribbean region to get there. At present, he averages 28.57 at 123.09 in T20s, with five centuries and 47 half-centuries.

Unfortunately for him, Fletcher has not got an IPL contract, not even once. He was part of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the Big Bash League (BBL), the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the ILT20, and The Hundred, but was never associated with any IPL team.

Fletcher, Key Part Of Knight Riders Family

Even though Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had never given Fletcher an IPL opportunity, he was part of their sister franchises: Los Angeles Knight Riders in MLC 2025 and 2026. There, he made 289 runs in seven matches during MLC 2025, and 337 runs in 12 outings during MLC 2026.

Besides, Fletcher made an important 27-ball 47 in the MLC 2026 final against Washington Freedom, playing an important role in a dramatic title triumph for LAKR.

Andre Fletcher Stats For West Indies

Even though Andre Fletcher has not taken an international retirement yet, he has not played for the country since December 2024. His last match, a T20I, was against Bangladesh in Bridgetown.

Overall, Fletcher has played 25 ODIs and 60 T20Is for West Indies. There, he has 354 runs in the 50-over format and 984 runs in the shortest format of the game.

With an average under 20 in both formats despite plenty of success in the franchise T20 leagues, West Indies did not give him further chances to shine for the country.

With the likes of Shai Hope, Brandon King, or even Johnson Charles being there, there is little chance Fletcher can come back to the mix at such age.
