Mumbai Indians icon Amelia Kerr decimated the UP Warriorz’ lower-order with a sizzling three-wicket haul in match number 10 of the ongoing WPL 2026 season. Bowling the last over of the UP Warriorz Women’s innings at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the ace spinner picked up the important wickets of Harleen Deol, Sophie Ecclestone and Deepti Sharma in the space of just six deliveries to scalp sensational figures of 3-28.
Amelia Kerr’s cunning 3-28 occurred in an innings where the UP Warriorz amassed a monumental total of 187-8 in 20 overs, thus maintaining an astonishing run rate of 9.35.

Amelia Kerr’s final-over heroics against UP Warriorz Women on Saturday, January 17 helped her claim tight figures of 3-28 in an otherwise high-scoring innings. Kerr’s spell also helped her bring up 50 wickets in WPL matches, thus becoming the first player in the history of the league to achieve the landmark figure.
The 25-year-old bowling all-rounder attained the feat in just her 34th WPL innings since the inaugural edition of the tournament back in 2023. As of now, the illustrious bowling tally of Amelia Kerr reads an impressive haul of 50 wickets from 34 innings at an average of 17.26 and a strike rate of 13.6. The wily leg-spinner has also claimed one five-wicket haul and another four-fer in the process.

Earlier in the match, UP Warriorz captain and opener Meg Lanning clattered a swift 45-ball 70 with 11 cracking boundaries and two huge sixes. Phoebe Litchfield also punched out an electrifying 61 off 37 balls as the Warriorz mounted 187-8 in 20 overs despite Amelia Kerr’s three-wicket burst in the final six balls.
Nat Sciver-Brunt also delivered an impressive spell, conceding just 22 runs off her four overs with the prized scalps of Chloe Tryon and wicketkeeper-batter Shweta Sehrawat.

Mumbai Indians zealot Amelia Kerr has been a part of the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team in the WPL since the inaugural edition of the competition back in 2023. To date, the cricketer has picked up 50 wickets in just 34 innings, and has also aggregated 441 runs with the bat in 26 innings at a strike rate of 115.44.
Amelia Kerr played a huge role in each of Mumbai Indians’ WPL winning campaigns in 2023 and 2025, picking up 15 wickets in 10 innings of the inaugural edition. The New Zealand all-rounder also snared 18 wickets in 10 innings last year as Mumbai Indians pipped Delhi Capitals in a nail-biting finale to lift the WPL silverware for the second time in three years.
