Vaibhav Sooryavanshi endured another disappointing outing against England as the young opener failed to make an impact in 4th T20I of the five-match series at Bristol on Thursday, July 9.
The 15-year-old, who made his international debut in the 2nd T20I earlier in IND vs ENG series, has now managed just 42 runs across his first 3 innings in India's colours. Unsurprisingly, his latest failure sparked strong reactions from Indian fans, with many comparing his impressive IPL performances to his struggles on the international stage.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fails to convert another start in Bristol
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, India once again opened with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma in a must-win encounter. However, unlike his aggressive approach in IPL, Sooryavanshi looked unusually cautious against Jofra Archer from the very beginning.
Notably, the youngster found it difficult to get going and his stay at the crease came to an end in the third over of the innings.
Archer bowled a back-of-a-length delivery that angled away around the imaginary fourth stump, tempting Sooryavanshi into an ambitious pull shot.
The left-hander failed to time the ball, sending it high into the air instead of towards midwicket. Sam Curran, stationed at mid-on, settled comfortably underneath it to complete a simple catch, ending Sooryavanshi's innings on 15 off 10 balls.
Interestingly, this was the 2nd time in IND vs ENG series that Archer had dismissed the young batter.

Fans slam Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after another disappointing knock
Another low score from Sooryavanshi triggered mixed reactions on social media. While some fans urged patience with the young opener, others questioned the hype surrounding him after his IPL heroics.
Here are some of the reactions following Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's dismissal:

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi yet to find his feet in international cricket
For those unaware, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was named in India's squad for the T20I tours of Ireland and England. Although he did not feature during the Ireland series and also missed the rain-affected opening T20I against England, the youngster was handed his international debut in the 2nd T20I of the series in place of Sanju Samson.
He began his international career with 14 runs off 10 balls in Manchester before scoring 13 off just five deliveries during India's chase of 202 in Nottingham.
Following his 15-run knock in Bristol, Sooryavanshi has now accumulated just 42 runs from his first 3 T20I innings for India and is still searching for the breakthrough performance that made him one of the standout performers in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals.
Talking about the match, India's innings got off to another disappointing start in the fourth T20I. Soon after Sooryavanshi's dismissal, Ishan Kishan was sent back for 4 off 6 balls by Josh Tongue, while Adil Rashid removed Abhishek Sharma for 16 off 14 deliveries.
At the time of writing, captain Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dube were trying to rebuild the innings and steer India towards a competitive total.
