After suffering a humiliating defeat in the 3rd T20I against England a couple of days ago, Team India are up for revenge as they collide against the hosts in the 4th game of the series in Bristol. India already trail 0-2, and they cannot afford any further slip-ups in the series.

However, even before a single delivery was bowled, the Men in Blue have been jolted by not one, but two injuries as their key players will not take any further part on the tour and have been ruled out.

Harshit Rana, Chakaravarthy out of England T20Is

In the latest development, the BCCI has confirmed that Rana and Chakaravarthy, the two main cogs in India’s bowling department, have been ruled out of the T20I series against England.

Interestingly, both the Indian bowlers sustained hamstring injuries, and they will not take any further part in the 4th and 5th T20Is.

Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy sustained hamstring injuries in the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge. The BCCI Medical Team has assessed them and ruled them out of the 4th and 5th T20Is," a BCCI statement read.

The pair sustained injuries before the 4th T20I, and as a result, they have been sidelined from the team, and no replacement has been announced as of yet.

Who has replaced Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy in IND playing XI for 4th T20I?

With the two stars injured and ruled out, India had to make a couple of last-minute changes in their playing XI for the 4th T20I against England.

The Gautam Gambhir-led management has brought in Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna as the two replacement players in the playing XI. The duo has been unimpressive in this format, but India had to make last-minute changes in the main XI for the riveting T20I game.

What captain Shreyas Iyer said about the injuries

"We are going to play like that. We saw the fearlessness that we carried in the first two games. However, our execution not right. But it is a new day and the boys are in high spirits.

We have to be positive. But we have to read the environment. We need to adapt to wicket and where wind is blowing.

(Team news) Two injuries. Varun Chakaravarthy and Harshit Rana are out. Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar in.

Chakaravarthy, Harshit's recent injury issues

Both Chakaravarthy and Rana are crucial for India in the T20Is, but in recent times, they have both been injury-prone. This is the second setback Rana has suffered this year after a knee injury that derailed his T20 World Cup journey and kept him out on the sidelines for the IPL 2026 as well.

On the other hand, Chakaravarthy played the IPL 2026 with a fractured toe, and he even missed the Ireland T20Is, which recently concluded. The pair have recently made their comebacks, and have already been ruled out of another series.
