Set to commence on March 26 later this month as per the official PSL 2026 schedule, the trophy unveiling was organized by the officials on Wednesday, March 11 with an explosive social media post.

The design of the trophy itself, however, has seemingly left fans divided, with many trolling the look while others praising its bold new style. While some fans urged the PCB and PSL officials to bring back the classic trophy design, others were of the opinion to stick with the latest silverware going forward.

PSL 2026 to commence on a trail of a historic auction

Earlier this week, the PCB unveiled the entire official schedule of the upcoming PSL 2026 season. As many as six Pakistani venues will be hosting the tournament, with the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore getting a major share with 15 matches, including the opening game, the two Eliminators and the final.

The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will also host 11 matches, while Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium (seven matches), Karachi’s National Bank Stadium (six matches) and the Multan Cricket Stadium (four matches) will host 17 matches between them. The Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar has also been allotted one match of the tournament, that of Peshawar Zalmi and Pindiz on March 28.

The season will also occur on a trail of a historic player auction, the first-ever for the tournament, as it took place at the Expo Centre in Lahore back in February last month.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also added two new franchises to the league’s roaster, in the form of Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen and Pindiz.

PSL 2026 to clash with rebel IPL 2026

The PSL 2026 schedule announcement also confirmed that the upcoming 11th edition will largely coincide with the rebel IPL 2026 season in India, much like last year’s 2025 edition. The upcoming season will be played between March 26 and May 3, and will feature 44 matches among eight competing teams.

Incidentally, this year’s PSL will also be the biggest season yet in terms of the number of participants as well as matches.
