Cricket fans witnessed something truly special on Friday, February 6, as India’s teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a once-in-a-generation performance in the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2026 final against England at the Harare Sports Club.

At just 14 years of age, Suryavanshi played an innings that will be remembered for years to come. The young player smashed a breathtaking century off just 55 balls, setting new records and leaving England’s bowlers helpless.

His fearless batting not only powered India into a commanding position but also sparked massive celebrations across social media.

Suryavanshi began cautiously on a pitch that had early moisture, seeing off the first few overs with maturity beyond his years. Once settled, he shifted gears dramatically. What followed was a stunning display of clean hitting, sharp placement, and remarkable confidence.

He punished loose deliveries, launched towering sixes, and pierced the field with elegant strokes.

Batting alongside skipper Ayush Mhatre, Suryavanshi stitched together a massive 142-run partnership in just 90 balls. The duo completely took control of the final, breaking England’s bowling plans and swinging momentum firmly in India's favour.

The innings also saw Suryavanshi achieve several milestones. It was his fourth century in Youth ODIs, drawing him level with Shubman Gill and Vijay Zol among Indian batters. Only Unmukt Chand, with five hundreds, remains ahead.

His knock also placed him among an elite list of players to score a century in an Under-19 World Cup final.

As expected, Twitter and other social media platforms erupted soon after his jaw-dropping century. Fans poured in praise, with one viral post reading, ā€œIn a world full of ManChilds, be a ChildMan instead. Be Vaibhav Suryavanshi.ā€

Many hailed him as a future superstar, while others simply highlighted his composure and power at such a young age.

Many fans also stated that age is no barrier to greatness, and that cricket’s next big star may already have announced himself on the grandest youth stage of them all.

In the article, let's take a look at the Twitter reaction on Vaibhav Suryavanshi's massive innings.

Suryavanshi eventually fell for a sensational 175 off just 80 balls, narrowly missing out on a double century. His dismissal came when he attempted another big shot, only to edge the ball to the wicketkeeper.

As he walked back, the entire stadium rose to its feet, giving the teenager a well-deserved standing ovation. Comparisons were quickly drawn to Kapil Dev’s iconic 175 in the 1983 World Cup.
