Rajasthan Royals (RR) are all set to take on five-time champions CSK in the third fixture of the IPL 2026 season. The match will be held on March 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati at 7:30 PM IST.
RR will begin a new journey this year under the captaincy of young blood Riyan Parag. Sanju Samson left for CSK through a trade, but the Royals didn’t leave empty-handed.
They acquired all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran in exchange for their former captain.
This year, RR mostly retained their core squad while adding a couple of important players to fill the gaps. Also, Curran is unavailable for this season due to injury, and the Royals subsequently added Dasun Shanaka as a replacement.
As RR head into this crucial opening encounter against CSK, let’s see how RR playing XI vs CSK could shape up.
RR Predicted Playing XI vs CSK, IPL 2026 - Match 3
Top Order - Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Riyan Parag
Yashasvi Jaiswal will open with 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the IPL 2026 season for RR. This opening pair is unlikely to be changed throughout the tournament.
While Jaiswal has already proved his mettle as an opener, Suryavanshi had a dramatic debut last year, where he scored an IPL century at just 14 years of age.

Vaibhav later did well in age-group games, including the U19 World Cup. Hence, he is expected to get a full season without a doubt.
At no. 3, captain Riyan Parag will back himself. While he is very experienced at no. 4, this year, the skipper will have to improvise and promote himself to score big runs.
Parag’s role in RR is no longer that of a finisher. He has to play the anchor, and for that, he must come up in RR playing XI vs CSK.
Middle Order - Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, Dasun Shanaka, Ravindra Jadeja
At no. 4, Shimron Hetmyer will come out to bat for RR. Hetmyer has to search for redemption in IPL 2026 after he managed to score just 239 runs last year in 14 games at a 21.72 average.
Dhruv Jurel will be Rajasthan's first choice wicket-keeper in Sanju Samson’s absence. Jurel, too, was struggling with form until last year. But he is coming off a strong domestic season and will look to replicate the same in the IPL too.
Dasun Shanaka may come in at no. 6. As Sam Curran’s replacement, he will have to play the role of a finisher as well as chip in with important wickets with the ball.
The most important piece of this playing XI puzzle for RR is Ravindra Jadeja. The all-rounder needs no introduction. He has played over 254 IPL games, picking up 170 wickets at a 30.51 average.
Jadeja’s performance will definitely shape RR’s campaign in this high-stakes IPL 2026 season.
Bowlers - Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Ravi Bishnoi, Sandeep Sharma
Jofra Archer will undoubtedly lead the bowling lineup in the RR playing XI vs CSK. Archer and Sandeep Sharma with the new ball will be a deadly combo.
Sharma has variations and can bowl with discipline in the powerplay. If this duo clicks early, RR can easily dominate the powerplay.
For some express pace, RR will use Nandre Burger. He has done well in SA20 and other franchise leagues. Hence, the Royals will trust him as a third-pace option.
As for spin, Ravi Bishnoi will take the lead in the RR playing XI vs CSK. His IPL career has gone downhill over the last couple of years. But under Jadeja’s guidance, Bishnoi can flourish and may become a match-winner for RR.
RR Playing XI vs CSK: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Riyan Parag (c), Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Dasun Shanaka, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Ravi Bishnoi, Sandeep Sharma
