The India vs New Zealand third T20I at Wellington saw some massive records getting toppled as the Men in Blue came to chase a total of 198 against New Zealand.

The visitors slammed 118 runs in the powerplay courtesy of Abhishek Sharma's 15-ball 50 and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's 19-ball 45.

Appreciating and acknowledging the feat, Yuvraj Singh, the mentor of Abhishek, pulled off a hilarious and cryptic joke on the internet while also teasing his disciple.

Yuvraj Singh mocks Abhishek Sharma with his own record

Taking to his official social media handle on X, Yuvraj Singh wrote, "You still can't get 50 off 12, can you? Looks like two left-handers batting in their backyard."

The first part of the tweet was a direct mockery that Yuvraj Singh used to tease Abhishek Sharma by cryptically pointing out that Yuvraj himself has the fastest 50 in T20Is from just 12 deliveries, while Abhishek has only come close with a 13-ball 50.

Nevertheless, the tease is usual banter between the mentor and the disciple, as Abhishek Sharma later completed his century from just 35 deliveries, before getting dismissed for 113 runs.

For the unaware, Yuvraj Singh pulled off the stunning performance during a 2007 match against England in the T20 World Cup, where India came to bat first and Yuvraj scored a total of 58 runs off 16 deliveries, while bagging three boundaries and seven sixes to his name.

Meanwhile, the second part of Yuvraj's tweet was a direct appreciation of the left-handed pair of Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma, who combined for a total of 133 runs from just 44 deliveries to bamboozle the New Zealand bowlers.

The duo took apart Jacob Duffy, Adam Milne, and Kyle Jamieson to reach the team hundred in just 30 deliveries.

While baffling the crowd and the bowlers at Wellington, they also added to the list of the highest opening partnerships in New Zealand in T20Is as they now rank below Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson's partnership of 171 runs against Pakistan back in 2016.

Yuvraj names record even he can't break

Later, after India bagged the win against New Zealand, Yuvraj Singh again tweeted on his X handle, but this time, to appreciate Abhishek.

“And I can’t make 100 of 30 or 34 balls. Well played, sir. Great innings aur apne single bhi le liye. Good stuff on the other end by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi! Devastating combination! Hats off to Abhishek, playing at no. 3 as a complete team man! Well-bowled by our bowlers to keep the score under 200! Great series win, congratulations Team India,” Yuvraj wrote.

Yuvi lauded the feat achieved by Abhishek. Sharma bagged a 30-ball 100 against Afghanistan earlier, and the 35-ball century only added to his feat list. Yuvraj's fastest ever century was recorded in the ODI format back in 2008, where he bagged a century from 64 deliveries.

Meanwhile, besides appreciating his disciple, Yuvraj also lauded Sanju Samson and wonderkid Sooryavanshi for their phenomenal display with the bat.
