In a significant development, the Rajasthan High Court has granted interim relief to Yash Dayal, who is facing serious allegations. While hearing his anticipatory bail plea, the High Court ordered a temporary stay on his arrest.
The decision was passed by a single bench of Justice Ganesh Ram Meena on Friday, providing Dayal protection from immediate police action.
The court made it clear that this relief is not final and is subject to strict conditions. Dayal has been directed to fully cooperate with the investigation and appear before the investigating agency whenever required.
The High Court also stated that the legal process in the case will continue, and further hearings will be held.
Yash Dayal's serious allegations and details of FIR
The case against Dayal is linked to a second FIR registered in July 2025 at the Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur.
The FIR alleges that the Dayal repeatedly sexually assaulted a minor girl in 2023. According to the complaint, the survivor was 17 years old at the time of the first alleged incident.
The FIR has been filed under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which carries a minimum punishment of 10 years in prison.
In addition, provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act have also been applied, making the case extremely sensitive and serious.
The complaint further alleges that the RCB bowler assaulted the survivor again earlier this year at a hotel in Jaipur.
This case came to light just weeks after another rape complaint was filed against Dayal in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. In that case, a woman accused him of exploiting her, further adding to the legal troubles faced by the ace bowler.
Defence arguments and court proceedings
After the FIR was registered in Jaipur, Yash Dayal approached the Rajasthan High Court seeking anticipatory bail. During the previous hearing, the court had directed the investigating officer to appear before the bench along with the case diary.
On Friday, the investigating officer was present in court and placed all facts related to the investigation before Justice Ganesh Ram Meena.
Interim relief for RCB fast bowler
Yash Dayal’s lawyer, argued that the FIR was filed after a delay of nearly two years, which raises serious questions regarding the timing of the complaint.
The defence also informed the court that Yash Dayal is fully willing to cooperate with the investigation and will not avoid questioning.
The lawyer further stated that whenever Dayal met the complainant, the meetings were always held in public places and often in the presence of other team members.
It was also argued that the complainant never informed Yash Dayal that she was under 18 years of age. The lawyer claimed that even in the FIR, the age of the survivor at the time of the alleged incident was not clearly mentioned.
While granting relief, the High Court clearly warned that Yash Dayal must remain present before the investigating authorities whenever summoned and must cooperate fully with the probe.
Taking these arguments into account, along with the facts presented in the case diary, the High Court decided to grant interim protection to Yash Dayal by staying his arrest.
