After an imposing loss at the hands of Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on an in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in match number 23 of the IPL 2026.
Going into the game, on paper, Lucknow boasts one of the more disciplined bowling units this season so far. Led by Mohammed Shami, alongside Prince Yadav and Digvesh Rathi, they have consistently found ways to contain opposition batters.
Shami, in particular, has been outstanding, boasting an economy rate of 6.2, the best among regular bowlers this season.
However, the question still looms around the fitness of Mayank Yadav, who burst onto the scene in spectacular fashion with searing pace and sustained hostility. On top of that, another emerging fast bowler, Mohsin Khan, had recently been in talks about sitting out the recent matches against KKR and GT.
Will Mayank Yadav play RCB vs LSG match today?
On Tuesday, Lucknow Super Giants’ global director of cricket, Tom Moody, confirmed that tearaway fast bowler Mayank Yadav is 'ready to go' as they gear up to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their next fixture.
Yadav has been on the sidelines this season, not due to an injury, but due to bowling load, Moody added.

Young Mayank's IPL journey has unfortunately been marred by injuries. He played in four matches in IPL 2024 before being ruled out, and played only two games in 2025 before injuries kept him out of that tournament as well. Furthermore, he is now injury-free and ready to take the field.
However, the LSG official further noted that Mayank's availability has given the team a selection headache, as they barely have a slot in a sorted bowling attack where Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav have been doing well, along with Digvesh Rathi.
Hence, it will be interesting to see whether Rishabh Pant-led LSG bring their pacer worth ₹11 crore back or continue with the ongoing pace attack.
Mohsin Khan injury latest update in IPL 2026
On the other hand, Mohsin Khan had started his IPL 2026 campaign on a good note too. He played the first match and delivered a strong performance against Delhi Capitals.
Despite that, he has since been absent from LSG’s playing 11 due to a niggle. Notably, Mohsin Khan had suffered a serious shoulder injury after IPL 2022, ruling him out of the start of IPL 2023. Despite injury concerns, he was retained by Lucknow Super Giants for 4.00 Cr.
After that, he missed a few matches due to a minor injury. According to recent news, he has recovered and is ready to return to the playing XI.
Now that Tom Moody has clarified injury concerns, Khan’s left-arm pace can be very useful, especially against strong batting lineups like RCB.
