In the 15th fixture of the IPL 2026 season, KKR faced LSG at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first as the home team were asked to bat on their own turf.

However, one missing piece from the LSG lineup raised startling questions. Mohsin Khan, the left-arm medium fast bowler, was mysteriously dropped despite bowling a good spell earlier in the season.

Mohsin Khan injured or dropped for KKR vs LSG game?

Captain Rishabh Pant walked out for the toss and won it to opt to bowl first. He announced an unchanged playing XI, saying LSG is looking for stability at the moment, especially after winning the last game against SRH.

However, one name that caught the fans’ attention was left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan. The latter earlier played against Delhi Capitals and bowled a brilliant spell of 4-19-1, including a maiden over.

But he was mysteriously dropped against SRH and is nowhere to be seen against KKR as well. Interestingly, commentator Harsha Bhogle confirmed on air that Mohsin Khan is, in fact, injured.

The bowler has picked up a niggle and hence is out of the playing XI momentarily. While LSG is yet to confirm the news, the injury pattern of Mohsin is becoming a serious issue.

Mohsin Khan’s injury history will make LSG sweat

Previously, Mohsin Khan suffered a serious shoulder injury after IPL 2022. It required surgery, ruling him out for several months, including domestic cricket and the early part of IPL 2023.

This was a major setback just when he was emerging as a key fast bowler. However, even after returning, he has faced niggles and struggled to maintain peak fitness.

Due to injuries and rehabilitation phases, Mohsin Khan often missed matches or was eased back slowly. He had to take a two-season sabbatical in the IPL alone due to his injuries.

While Mohsin finally managed to make a comeback in IPL 2026, another niggle is likely to stall his growth. If this happens, LSG are in serious trouble with Mayank Yadav already on the bench.

Mayank Yadav fit yet another rush by LSG

Apart from Mohsin Khan, another express fast bowler, Mayank Yadav, is also waiting for his turn on the sidelines for LSG. Due to recurring back and leg injuries, he hasn’t played since the IPL 2025 season.

While he is currently fit for selection, LSG are being cautious around him. He is not rushed into the playing XI for now owing to careful workload management as Lucknow are leaving nothing to chance.

However, if Mohsin Khan ends up missing the next few games due to his alleged niggle, LSG will have to reconsider their options and introduce Mayank Yadav to boost their bowling lineup.
