The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise is set to be bolstered with the return of two fast bowlers. Team’s global director of cricket Tom Moody recently confirmed that the two express pacemen in contention have attained full recovery and are ready to roar against Virat Kohli’s RCB in match number 23 of the IPL 2026 season.

It is worth noting that LSG and defending champions RCB will be taking on each other at the latter’s home ground in Bengaluru on Wednesday, April 15.

Tom Moody says LSG ready to unleash Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan

LSG global director of cricket Tom Moody may have inadvertently fired a warning shot at RCB’s famed batting line-up ahead of their much-awaited IPL 2026 clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

On April 14, i.e., a day prior to the match, the former Australian cricketer stated that LSG’s injured fast bowlers Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan are now “fully fit” and implied that they are ready to roar against the defending champions.

It is worth noting that Mohsin Khan played LSG’s opening match of the IPL 2026 season earlier this month against the Delhi Capitals. In his four overs, the speedster came up with fighting figures of 1-19 with a maiden.

However, Mohsin Khan was dropped from LSG’s playing XI against KKR in match number 15 of the tournament owing to a niggle he picked up at some stage before the game.

Mayank Yadav set for IPL return after a year

Fellow LSG paceman Mayank Yadav also holds a troubling history with recurring back and leg injuries. The cricketer played just two matches for the franchise in the IPL 2025 season last year before suffering an extended injury layoff.

After getting fitness clearance from the CoE, a fit-again Mayank Yadav played two warm-up games for India A prior to the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

If he is selected in LSG’s playing XI against the RCB on April 15, the 23-year-old will be making his return to competitive cricket after nearly a year.

LSG in need of a win amid topsy-turvy season

The LSG management will be hoping for a reversal of fortunes with the impending and potential returns of two express fast bowlers amidst a topsy-turvy IPL 2026 season. Under the leadership of seasoned wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, the team has secured two wins and two defeats from four matches.

Having accumulated four points from four games, the franchise is holding an NRR of -0.427, as of April 14.

The match against defending champions RCB will be hosted by the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, April 15. The action will commence from 7:30 PM IST onwards in the evening.

A win for the LSG franchise will catapult them among the top four sides on the 10-team points table, joining the likes of table-toppers Rajasthan Royals, number two Punjab Kings and defending champions RCB themselves.
